Resident Evil 4 HD: 360 vs. PS3

The XBLA version includes 1000 Achievement Points, so shouldn’t it offer a Platinum Trophy on PS3?

fluffydelusions5020d ago

lol@the human fund...seinfeld ftw.

dark-hollow5020d ago (Edited 5020d ago )

I loved the wii version of resident evil 4 mainly because of the awesome wiimote controllers and I was hoping they'll support move in RE4 HD.

Wtf capcom?

just_looken5019d ago

@dark
Re4 hd gold edition next year?.

SilentNegotiator5019d ago

The Human Fund: Money for People.

Capcom has disappointed me enough for me to expect to be disappointed by anything they do.

motherboop5020d ago

No Platinum, No Move Support, full of PS3 DRM, NO PURCHASE!

DigitalRaptor5020d ago (Edited 5020d ago )

Those capcom sons of b*tches!

Where's the challenge in taking the RE5 move compatibility, and implementing it into this? To not include it is a complete step backwards!

And the trophies - damn that's lazy!

novaspire5020d ago

clearly you have no idea, as this isnt just a few lines of code you have to copy-paste. it would be months of work, lining up animations, implementing more code for the controls, sorting out bugs, it just isnt in their interest.

Chug5020d ago

They'll make you wait and the buy the 'RE4 HD GOLD' edition to get move support.

MaxXAttaxX5020d ago

Don't care much for motion controls, but Capcom already implemented it on the Wii.
So why not the PS3?

Corax5020d ago

Ok Capcom not my favorite this gen but anyways. They can update the trophy just like they did with Uncharted but who know if they will or not. Same thing with the Move they can update the game just like MAG but again who knows. PS3 DRM I assume you mean pirated movies not being able to watch on the PS3, right? Just buy the movie if you really want to watch it that bad. Nothing wrong with supporting the movie you like by buying it is there?

limewax5019d ago

PS3 will still play a pirated movie anyway, just not in HD.

Personally I like having a blu-ray collection anyway

sashimi5020d ago

Really....no move support...gg Crapcom and i was planning to buy this too

Pikajew5020d ago

How did i know this was IGN?

I am happy I have the wii version

EdwardS0875020d ago

Microsoft really knew what they were doing when they added 'Achievements' to gaming. You have knocked over 100 barrels--10pts! Who knew people would care so much? If I could only dig up all the 'oh that is stupid remarks' from before Trophies came on the scene, would be priceless. Steam has to do it in a better way. Its so passive/uneventful when you get a steam achievement. At least let it make a noise or something...

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev Says Resident Evil 4 Inspired Uncharted and Many More Action Games

Former Naughty Dog dev says Resident Evil 4 inspired Unchartted and even Gears of War, particularly the over-the-shoulder camera view.

CrimsonWing6926d ago

It revolutionized third-person shooters, in a genius way that gives you full control of aiming.

CrimsonWing6926d ago

No, I mean RE4. Like the whole snap to over-shoulder and precision aiming was what I meant.

I won’t deny Winback does pave the way in some respect. But it’s not the same at all.

InUrFoxHole26d ago

Both are great series. That's awesome

Samonuske26d ago

I thought this was common knowledge. Resident Evil Revolutionised over the shoulder aiming in 3rd person shooters/action games

italiangamer26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Influenced basically every third person action game made after it, GTA uses the over the shoulder perspective when shooting since the 4th installment, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 too and the Batman Arkham series has the over the shoulder perspective as the main camera throughout the whole game series.
Obviously there are a ton more examples but you get the point 🗿.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9235d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil35d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
