Monochrome Racing offers twelve different vehicles, all of which can be upgraded in terms of weaponry, armour and power-up usage, all of which apply slight cosmetic changes to the vehicle. However, these changes are more evident outside of the game itself, as the actually races play from a fairly distant top-down viewpoint.
James Hamblin of Brash Games writes "I have to admit that, when the lists of PlayStation Minis games available for review are sent round the Brash Games staff, I’m not always totally au fait with the subject matter of many of the titles".
PushSquare: "Despite having an interesting visual style and some neat ideas, poor execution leaves Monochrome Racing feeling completely unrefined. The game’s careless upgrade system and abhorrent AI leads to a flat, unsatisfying experience that’s not even worth the budget asking price."
Nordcurrent has today announced that its latest game for Nintendo's WiiWare service is now available on the Wii Shop Channel in North America and Europe. After a successful launch as a Minis title for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable (PSP) earlier this week, Monochrome Racing comes to the WiiWare service.
