Check out some new footage of the PlayStation Vita UI.
Something too playful about it, I prefer the sophisticated sleekness of the XMB
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I likey likey.
The XMB is elegant and simple, but once you have a lot of stuff in there becomes useless. It sucks to scroll down when you have over 50 games, or hundreds of photos, music, etc. If this UI changes that, and becomes simpler to use when having a lot of games and media, then I'm all for it. One thing I don't like is the circles. I would have preferred to have something else, or squares with rounded corners, because circles look somewhat cheap.
Maybe themes will take care of that circles? Don't like them either.
What are you expecting from something aimed at casual users and hardcore gamers?
Love the unlock!
just tear them off the screen lol!
Wait I missed that.... *goes to watch again* [EDIT] ermmm, ya not to keen on that unlock. Doesn't look well thought out. But thats just my opinion. I like the lock screen of the PSP Go.
Wow, that's cool! Love the whole feel of it. :)
bye bye nintendo
Ok, nothing really new in that video if you own a smartphone or tablet. Not sure that the interface matches up to Android or iOS either. Sure its nice but nothing about it had that "wow" factor, maybe its because I'm use to that kind of interface having owned a tablet for the past 5 months. Sony need to clearly identify who the target audience is for the Vita. There is no point positioning this too much toward the casual audience (i.e. focusing too much on non-gaming aspects) as they'll get eaten alive by other devices, just like Nintendo is now finding out with the 3DS.
its pretty clear who sony is targeting. what are you talking about
What in that video said it was focused towards gaming? The music and video player looked average and if you think otherwise then you've never owned a smartphone or tablet. I would not try and sell Vita based on its non gaming abilities as they'll get murdered in the marketplace. I'll bet you anything my tablet will still have better video support than the Vita when the Vita is released and the model tablet I have was released last October.
are you kidding right now? this specific clip is showing off the UI. read the title. ps: i owned an iphone and currently own a evo 3d
"What in that video said it was focused towards gaming?" . LOL, dude, congrats! you got "idiot of the day" award! Is it not clear from the tittle were that video only a demo of how PSV UI works? If you want some gaming, than check the other news about PSV line-up. Lol.
Haha for some reason he read "gaming" when the title said "UI" WTF did he think would be showing? The video is about the UI so they show the UI. I mean it's not a complex concept.
I can't figure out if you're a troll or just know literally nothing about the PlayStation Vita. They're not putting their primary focus on the music and video player. They're simply advertising the fact that its there and works well. Sony is putting its focus on the games, impressive hardware and the beautiful OLED screen which I can guarantee you blows whatever tablet you use, out of the water.
I've owned 4 PSP and have been following the Vita since it was announced. I'm not convinced the Vita will succeed as yet. Doing hardcore gaming simply is not enough in today's portable market place. I don't expect hardcore gamers or those older than school age to agree but its a fact. All you say may be true about the hardware and screen but sit the Vita next to a serious smartphone or tablet and it still looks like a toy. I dare say picking one up will further reinforce that sentiment. As for hardware specs, since when has that won a race? Casual audience don't give a damn about dual or quad core. They will however care if their photos they take look crap or if they can't sync it with their calendar or even download the latest throw away app off Itunes or Android marketplace. As for being a troll, I get sick of people suggesting that just because I have a different point of view or opinion.
@ CloseSecond, dude, no one is saying that you can't have a different opinion, but you need to understand why people don't necessarily agree with your opinion. there's contradictions all throughout your post, smartphones are smartphones, the majority of the of things that a smartphone can do the psvita can do that as well, and did you know that Sony makes smart phones as well? so keep that in mind, Vita is targeting a totally different market. Vita is not just about selling hardware, but games, hardcore games for people like you, who've owned 4 PSPs even though smartphones have been in existence for quite some time now, which shows that smartphones are clearly lacking somethings that hardcore gamers want. You have a system (Vita) that will allow you to take some of your PS3 games on the go, allow you to browse websites, video chat, play countless games with buttons and great graphics, touch screens, sleek UI, and as far as we know, there will be absolutely "NOTHING" like it on the market as far as gamers are concerned, and somehow you dont see how it can succeed when other gaming devices which offers less have succeeded? Aight cool, you're well within your rights, but I don't their has ever been a better built console for gamers, especially with the line up they have. And please, I'm not trying to be rude, or anything like that, but next time you're talking about anything "PLAYSTATION, or NINTENDO or XBOX" it's probably targetting GAMERS!!! I thought that would be a given
I loved XMB but this one look's more smooth than XMB <3
Yes, I like the xmb too, but I can see how it's bland simplicity could turn some people off. Also, the Vita will probably have options to customize your user interface. It will have all the bells and whistles, as well as many interesting apps.
Yeah i notice some design are too bland. But like you said, i hope Sony will put the options to customize our UI or give some update periodically so the UI can have diffrent style.
The unlock screen is really slick. Love the UI. There was a video a while back that showed a live demo of the UI and it looked a little slow and hard to navigate. This video shows it off much better and puts any concerns I had to rest. The UI looks fantastic!
Looks fun and very easy to use. It appears to be a lot better than the 3DS OS.
It's looks pretty good.
sweet, i really like the whole touchy UI. cannot wait!!! XD
this UI looks so good :) fun to use slick UI
With Persona 4, FFX and Uncharted, this is a must buy for gamers around the globe!
