CoD fans who found Modern Warfare 2's single-player story a little on the short side, rejoice: Activision-owned studio Sledgehammer believes that Modern Warfare 3's campaign is something of a meatier beast.
Glad to hear it, a longer campaign is always welcome. That said, its not length that counts, its how you use it. I would rather have short, well made and awesome (with a coherent story this time) than long and disjointed. Here's to being optimistic.
5 or 10 minutes? But hey bf3s campaign is short as well from the promising 12 hours down to something like 6.
still longer than mw3
More credits this time
tbh, all i care about is multiplayer... though glad to hear that the campaign is longer than the one featured in MW2...:)
What else are they going to say? That it's shorter?
Ummm. Yeah, if it were shorter.
so its 2.5 hours long instead of 2? still dose not count
Cod storys never been long this is why i only play on the Veteran Difficulty as it adds more length due to the added difficulty. Still it's pretty short, it's pretty obvious call of duty is a multiplayer game and that's their focus. It would be nice to add a more in depth story and longer but that's something that I don't think will ever happen with the series. Whats crazy is a lot of people don't even touch the story mode some of my friends on the PSN have never even beaten black ops or Mw2 yet and they had it for years, but these are also guys who only play Cod and no game else.
I like how there's people on here assuming what BF fans would say, but in the irony of it all, they just went onto the same level. On the topic of the gameplay length, as long as the story wasn't an incoherent mess like MW2 did, then things should be ok.
Well ... with Infinity Ward working on the multiplayer and Sledgehammer working on the singleplayer, this could be possible. It's clear they're past updating the engine and actually building the game, so if both teams are putting their all into their specific areas, this could turn out excellently!
I'm actually really looking forward to what Sledgehammer did with the campaign. The first Deadspace was amazing, I've loved the Modern Warfare campaigns a lot better then the other COD titles. Really wish they would just make it it's own franchise. Modern Warfare sounds much better then COD MW. Also, it would eliminate confusion and people could stop with the milked BS. Two year development cycles are common now, just look at Uncharted, which is releasing it's 3rd game since 2007, just like Modern Warfare.....
Doubt many gamers even bother with the sp
I for one am excited we get a lengthier sp. Too many games have short SP, and I want something that will take me awhile to beat. One thing I hope they increase is the AI as call of duty games have been too easy. I saw some new screenshots of modern warfare 3 here http://mwarfare3.com/call-o... and the game looks the best so far in the series. Just a little fine tuning of the graphics did the job. can't wait until november 8!
Both Bad Company 1 and 2 had absolutely terrible campaigns... And most people wouldn't know because there too busy only with multiplayer, and those who do know don't care... Modern Combat also had an awful campaign by the way... But BF3's campaign looks like its gonna be ok. That MW3 footage taking place near the stock exchange looks similar to MW2 though... But the call of duty's always have great single players. Except for Call of duty 3 and Big Red one (Made by Treyarch) and the orginial Call of Duty.
