InsideKinect writes: Harmonix once again attended PAX this year with their own panel and a strong focus on Dance Central 2. Their Q&A, which you can watch in full here, also focused on the future of the Rock Band franchise.
With little direction to take the genre aside from additional songs, and slowing sales preventing typical yearly iterations of the game, Harmonix asked fans what they want out of a future title and one of the suggestions was a Dance Central and Rock Band mash-up. Although there may be liscensing issues with that specific idea, Harmonix are certainly not ruling out a Kinect addition to Rock Band
Harmonix, best known for their work on the Rock Band franchise, has announced that they're becoming a part of the Epic Games family.
Harmonix, the developer behind Rock Band and Dance Central, reveal some new gameplay footage for the upcoming DJ song-mixing game.
More Stadia exclusives are on the way.
Google should just stick to tablets software and phones all this news still will not get people to buy the friggin thing. I'd rather buy a PS5 or a Series X then waste cash on Stadia.
Lol what's the point? when will google realise the vast majority don't want to game on their crappy platform?
It's kind of sad. Splash Damage is a great developer, and have made some fantastic games that simply never saw the audience they deserved. Partnering with Stadia isn't going to change that track record, by any means.
As for Super Massive, Until Dawn was fantastic, but their latest release didn't do well, and I think they're looking for any sort of partnership money at this point.
Kinect + Rock Band = What? Air guitar at it's finest? Add along some "air drums" and no peripherals needed for this one (other than the Kinect, of course).
i actually think kinect could be implemented into rock band pretty easily and well - just use it to track your body so you can 'rock out' around the place and have your character mimic you on-screen. obviously it wouldnt be used to actually hit notes.
little things like that add to games without forcing kinect down your throat.
Sounds good to me I'm a big fan of rockband and dance Central so adding them both together would be a good thing plus it would add abit of fressness to the rockband name.
Idk they might implement like make a band photo thing or the mimic character feature like the guy up there ^ mentioned. kinect could be implemented into rock band but it would be kinda pointless. I mean i already have an idea of how the controls would be if it were like the kinect band. would probably be like each part of the neck of the guitar that your holding on the screen would represent a different color and you would strum like you would a real guitar. This is a pretty simple set up and im sure some of the modders like the one who made the DBZ mod for kinect could make this in like a couple of hours. They might have something like scanning in your own cloths or guitar just like they have in kung fu high impact.
