Amazing game, great score. SuckerPunch did another incredible job.

That's about where I am with I2. Not perfect, but a step up from the first in every way... and the original was awfully damn fun.

Sucker Punch To Work On Franchise Spin-Offs After Ghost Of Yotei

Ghost of Yotei can be followed up with spin-offs, confirms the Creative Directors at Sucker Punch Productions.

-Foxtrot256d ago (Edited 256d ago )

Kind of surprising because I don’t know how they’d do spin offs given that they are now making each new game about a different Ghost. When you spin off it’s usually about a different character or location but they are already doing that here.

Only thing I can think of is Jin making a return with a direct follow up to Tsushima and then eventually Yotei will get the same treatment.

Legends? Or maybe code for GAAS 😔

-Foxtrot256d ago

*shudder*

I didn’t think about live service

As for Legends, I think doing it as an update after launch for the current game is a better way than a separate game entirely

lukasmain256d ago

Maybe some "Iki Island" sized "spin-offs". Which I would love.

Daeloki255d ago

I think people are throwing around the word spin-off without really knowing what it means. As far as I know, or maybe this is just my interpretation, but a spin-off is something that features someone who was already introduced in a main entry.

So in my mind, Ghost of Yotei is it's own standalone entry in an anthology. Whereas a Ghost of Tsushima spin-off would be if we got something like a game, novel, comic or series focusing on Yuna, Kenji, Tomoe or some other character from the game.

lellkay255d ago

Maybe a spin off dedicated to a side character established in GOT or GOY?

victorMaje255d ago

That’s how I’d understand it. I thought they’d go back to Jin though. Imo his story needs a sequel.

I mean or you could make a new Sly Cooper, InFamous, or new IP and not milk this series...

Daeloki255d ago

So Ghost of Yotei is milking the series... but making a new Sly Cooper or Infamous isn't?

Chocoburger255d ago

I believe his point is that both series have been gone long enough where regardless of how many entries there are, he (and others) miss the franchise and wouldn't feel like it's considered "milking" due to the massive time gap.

When a gameplay style or characters are gone for so long, its only natural to want to see it return, right?

Mix it up, don't just pigeon hole yourself to make only samurai games, toss in some variety. But if Sucker Punch doesn't want to do that, so be it.

The_Hooligan255d ago

We have had 4 sly cooper games (not including the collection), 3 infamous games (not including the spin-off first light) and so far only 2 ghost games so i wouldn't really call it milking the series. Now, i wouldn't mind also getting another sly or infamous game though.

Jin_Sakai256d ago

Would much rather have a new Infamous game or even a new IP after Ghost of Yotei.

CrimsonWing69255d ago

So, they’re not going to work on different things? Just Ghost and spin-offs for years to come? Please don’t Ass Creed this IP

Profchaos255d ago

Feels like Sony's thing lately studio struck gold and 10 years later they are still toiling away at the same IP tlou and horizon two of the biggest examples

StoneTitan254d ago

You mean every studio in existence?

PitbullMonster255d ago (Edited 255d ago )

Probably for the directors cut edition of GoY for the PS6.
