TheGuardian: Winter is always the busiest time for video game releases, but this year is more packed than most with a vast range of triple-A titles competing for space on overloaded Christmas lists. From the defining conflict between first-person shooter giants Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 to the continuing adventures of Batman, Nathan Drake and Marcus Fenix, hardly a week will go by for the next few months without giant queues outside the world's game retailers. To get you ready, here are 15 of the biggest titles, complete with release dates. Your piggy bank is in for some serious damage.

ummmm....none of these release in "winter" 2011, most of winter 2011 already happened from jan. 1st 2011 till March 19th, the next part of the winter solstice 2011 begins at the end of the autumnal equinox, Dec 21 2011.

Author has no idea how seasons work apparantly.

Seriously, WTF, what do they teach these people in school, Resistance comes out Sept 6th, that's summer, same with Gears 3, sept 20th, That's still summer dude....before the autumnal equinox (READ "FALL" on Sept 23rd.)

No Games come out this winter!!!

Not a SINGLE game on that list comes out in the "Winter"
2 Summer titles and the rest Fall titles

At least until after the new year and that will be winter 2012.....

I have too many Fall games to worry about getting.
I am really glad Dark Souls is releasing about a month before all the heavy hitters. That will give me plenty of time to sit down and enjoy a good play-through without the interruption of Battlefield 3 and Skyrim. :p

Are you retarded? Summer is May, June and July. Autumn is August, September and October and Winter is November, December and January. I can't believe I've to tell a growing human-being the seasons of the year. Also, we don't refer to November and December as the Fall outside America.

I was telling him about the seasons that he mentioned in his post. He DID NOT mention Spring. So clearly you have no comprehension skills. Also I'm probably ten times as educated as you. Then again, its not like you have a great education system in the States now is it? BTW I've a business degree and a computer science degree and I guarantee you that I would wipe you clean in an IQ test. I don't mean to be patronising. Its just that I have to put little fools like you in their place every now and then. BTW, patronising means talking down to someone. Here's something for you you dumb insignificant ignorant American:

Obviously I know these aren't exactly correct but in general speaking, these are how the seasons are spoken about. Thus in the article, the author is including November and December in the Winter and this is the calendar he is following. How people don't know this frightens me.

TheGameMan4618d ago (Edited 4618d ago )

educated by having a degree does not denote intellegence, I am only 21 so I have no degree yet, but am in college.

the seasons are pretty basic stuff, here they are for you;

summer= june 21 - sept 20

fall- sept 21-dec 20

winter dec 21 - mar 20

spring mar 21 - june 20

approx here as the cycles are not 100% even every year, but count those to be accurate within a few days.

so how are you, college boy, putting me in my place with your error, if anything you just make me look smarter. I am probably half your age and have proven you wrong.....

deal with it you little insignificant internet nothing!!!

no one asked about the fucking irish calander, these are US game releases, and NONE of them are in the winter...

you are WRONG, so for all that money you wasted on your useless education, you still will be a dumb shit all your life.

:)

Autumn starts Sept 21st. Winter starts Dec 21st.

Either way, good God is that a lot of games.

Kran4619d ago (Edited 4619d ago )

Wow Seph. You dont know your season dates.

Summer is Middle of June-Middle of Sept. Autumn is middle of sept-middle of december. And so forth.

Besides Gears Of War 3, there's nothing on the list I'd be interested in.
