I'm still bitter at Valve for removing mat_picmip -10

:(

Placebo my ass.

What did mat_picmip -10 do??

EDIT: This didnt work well for me. I have an ati 6950, this gives weird colour effects.

mat_picmip -10 basically just forced uncompressed textures in the game.

Made certain things look really good, like the little props and things.

For those who stay ahead of the GPU curve?

You don't need a bleeding edge GPU to play with such tweaks. An upper-end nVidia 200 series (i.e. 275 or 280) or equivalent Radeon is all that you need.

Unless you are playing on multiple screens i guess. Personally playing the game at 5760*1080, i swear this game is made for multiscreen lol. with GTX 580 SLI maxed out quality my setup is pushing about 130fps.
