This is a terrible harderned edition. I thought they were going to give CoD2.

Honestly all those things listed are usually pre order bonuses for normal editions of games.

If the harderned edition is only £5 more than normal then it would make sense. But looking back at the other editions, the price will be £60.

DarkTower8053092d ago

Well, if an Elite membership gets you all the map packs for MW3, then its worth it imo.

CarlosX3603091d ago

I agree. And all those other extras? Pretty cool, I dare say. :)

Klaykid1233091d ago

So you're going to need Elite to get mappacks?

BakedGoods3092d ago (Edited 3092d ago )

But...but...we get a free year of CoD Elite. Just like a drug dealer: the first hit's free.

DarkTower8053092d ago

Lol, true, but obviously Acti must have some bomb ass stuff or people would go to another dealer, right?

Convas3092d ago (Edited 3092d ago )

I don't see getting free map packs as "terrible".

Besides, isn't Hardened the little brother of Prestige, surely that one will have more content.

Needless to say, I've never bought a special edition, and I doubt I ever will. Games are expensive enough, and with more available and coming than I'll have time to play, I need every dime.

$20 extra bucks for that stuff is a good 33% of another new standard edition game.

*I don't see getting free map packs as "terrible".

But the question here is after the one year expires do you get to keep the map packs or do they go away??

@Kee If were talking BF3 yes but then there are those people who only buy cod every other year.

@Sixzerofour You might have a point guess we'll have to wait and see.

Kee3092d ago

@Dart89 after one year will you still be playing the same game?

SixZeroFour3092d ago (Edited 3092d ago )

@dart - i would assume that the map packs are Elite exclusive, so when its gone, you would prolly have to buy and download the real thing

much like how the free halo 3 map packs were exclusive to the halo 3 multiplayer disk that came with halo odst...if you didnt have that disk, you would have to purchase and download the map packs again even if you already played the map packs from the odst disk

EDIT - kinda like what bakedgoods said at 1.2, that first year (like a drug dealer) is free just to get you hooked, one point you are playing the map packs for free, then all of a sudden its gone and you want to play it, along with all the other freebies that come with it so you shell out for the membership from here on out...its how MS hooked ppl with gold live, it is somewhat annoying paying for it, but if i dont have it, no online, luckily there are deals all the time

trenso13092d ago

No the prestige editions of bith mw2 and black ops dont come with anything more that the hardened except the remote controlled car and night vision goggles. No extra content for the game or anything

TheFirstClassic3092d ago

@Dart89 don't worry a new call of duty will be released a few months later anyway...
