Interplay wants to revive Earthworm Jim and MDK

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Interplay looking into utilising its portfolio of franchises "through sequels and various development and publishing arrangements". The company intends to revive its in-house development studio using the money gained from the recent sale of the Fallout franchise to Bethesda Softworks.

Projects which Interplay wishes to develop include sequels to Earthworm Jim, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Descent, and MDK - assuming finance for the projects can be raised.

Wow, I had totally forgotten that both Jim and MDK were Interplay games. Both were and are timeless classics. Loved both MDKs (1st from Shiny, 2nd from BioWare, yes, the same Mass Effect and KOTOR BioWare!) and first 2 Jims (Shiny ones, didn't like the 3D one...).

Earthworm is a true classic and I miss that game and it's funky style. Hopefully they do it right and we could see a nice revival of a true classic!!

They could start by releasing the PSP Earthworm Jim game that was lost when Shiny went to Foundation9. It looked like that game was pretty far along.

Hell, why not put it out on Wii, PSN, XBLA, PS2 while you're at it!

And yeah, a new MDK would be welcomed with open arms... from me anyway :)
