Deus Ex: Human Revolution Is This Generations Crysis

Games such as Duke Nukem Forever and Crysis 2 were massive letdowns, while the only game that has truly impressed us recently was The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and that particular title was exclusive to the PC.

So what does Deus Ex: Human Revolution have to offer hardcore gamers? The game is said to fully implement DirectX 11 as well as other cutting edge features such FXAA, MLAA, HD3D and full support for multi-monitor AMD Eyefinity technology (up to six monitors).

I thought the same thing :P kinda....

Sunhammer3102d ago

Another day, another dumbass article on N4G. Crysis, Crysis: Warhead and Crysis 2 all had garbage stories and were nowhere near delivering on their pre-launch hype. All graphics, subpar gameplay.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is this generation's Deus Ex. Let's leave it at that.

chak_3102d ago

crysis 1 subpar gameplay? riiiight.

Solid_Snake-3102d ago (Edited 3102d ago )

bit of an insult to crysis.

in all honesty i wish i never bought deus ex:HR

i like a game that drags me in from the start....i found myself pausing and finding other stuff to do.

dont get me wrong i love RPG's and the old deus ex's but for some reason im 3 hours in and still waiting for it to get good.

also adam jensen doesnt suit his voice.

you may disagree as i know this game is getting amazing reviews by the masses but it is my opinion.

I don't get the comparison to Crysis..

Kran3102d ago (Edited 3102d ago )

Well with Crysis, you're wearing a suit with technological abilities.

In Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you ARE the suit with technological abilities.

Plus, In Crysis, you can take multiple paths... or is that just Crysis 2? You can do the same in Deus Ex, but its a lot more easier to take the stealthy approach. It wasnt in Crysis 2. Otherwise I might have took it.

JsonHenry3102d ago

Stealth in both Crysis games is a joke.

I thought he was trying to compare Crysis to Deus Ex on a technical level not gameplay.

Raf1k13102d ago

I thought the same as Json. Crysis is known mainly for it's technical achievements more than anything else.

From the trailers I thought DE:HR was going to be really great graphically but it's actually not as great as I thought. Technically the graphics are good but not great. However, the game as a whole is stellar either way and I'm loving playing it stealthy. It's pretty much how I would expect a Metal Gear Solid RPG to be.

Its more about how it blows people away. A game that comes once a gen thats for the core gamer, at least thats what i got. It supports all the good pc stuff like eyefinity, dx11, 3d exc.

fluffydelusions3102d ago

I'm just glad Eidos didn't screw up Deux Ex:HA like Crytek did with Crysis 2

contra1573102d ago

Graphics do not compare. Haven't seen the pc version, but consoles didn't look to special, but graphics don't make a game.

Xof3102d ago (Edited 3102d ago )

Graphics do not make a game... and even if they did, Deus Ex would NOT be at the top of the tower. The textures and lighting are nice, but animations and textures leave a LOT to be desired.

The actual game world is also pretty dead, which I found surprising. One of the things that really impressed me about the first game was you could walk up to a vending machine and pop out a can of soda, or wander into an alley and see rats scurrying about on the ground.

Also: isn't Crysis this generation's Crysis?

EDIT: @ Fluffy--maybe I used the wrong word. It's certainly detailed... but there's not much depth--much movement--to the world. NPCs just stand around, there aren't any animals, there aren't things like paper blowing in the streets... basically, well, shallow.

It's still a great game, but for all the detail, the game's world feels pretty dead.

fluffydelusions3102d ago

I found the world to be awesome! All the shops and everything were filled with items even back rooms and such. I thought a lot of attention to detail went into this game.

I know what you mean, I think the word you are looking for is " Static "... the world felt very static.

I think the best open world game that really conveys a living, breathing environment is GTA4. little things like trash cans that you can trip over, the random stuff the NPC's get upto within the world etc... if this game had that level of interaction... I mean i don't know if any other game would be worthy to mention next to it.

I already love the game. my only complaint graphics wise was the character models. they could have been better.

The thing about it is the gameplay was just soo good and the story was so cool that no matter what faults are pointed out it more then makes up for it and leaves me feeling those little issues are just that.. little issues. I can't wait to see what they do with the next game.

I disagree. Deus Ex is a better game and the graphics aren't as good. But with a game like Deus Ex you don't need the SUPER REAL graphics. But DX 11 looks nice.
