Hopefully after Spiderman, IG makes either a new R&C game or Resistance or (crosses finger and toes) Sunset Overdrive 2.

Nyxus2222d ago

SU2 is possible but the ball is in Microsoft's court: http://www.ign.com/articles...

_-EDMIX-_2222d ago

Not necessarily because Insomniac owns the intellectual property so really anybody could publish it.

IamTylerDurden12222d ago

I highly doubt there will ever be another Sunset Overdrive as Insomniac owns the IP and the game did not sell well.

darthv722222d ago

Prob not but damn its a fun game.

PhoenixUp2222d ago

I can’t wait until the next game in the series

It’s the most successful non-Mario 3D platformer series

IamTylerDurden12222d ago (Edited 2222d ago )

I would love to see remakes of Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal in the same fashion as 2016 R&C. The 2016 remake was an 86 Metacritic but after platinuming the game i found it baffling as to why the game wasn't a 90+. It was absolutely stellar game development on virtually every level. I doubt they will remake the trilogy but we can hope.

I honestly believe a Resistance remaster or new game could in the works, i would love either.

Cajun Chicken2222d ago (Edited 2222d ago )

I absolutely love this series from initially hating the first one for being 'too chunky', I quite liked the gameplay in Deadlocked/Gladiator, but not the direction. The Future series was near perfect including Q4B. The later R&C games from ACiT were middling and difficult to tell if they worked or not, but the art direction and storytelling was there. I never actually finished FFA.
The reboot of Ratchet and Clank was a 'greatest hits' whilst complimenting the flawed movie. Although a great game, and remake, if not the best to date, it had to cut loose with some of the character development from the original game of Ratchet not initially being a sympathetic wannabe hero type and as Insomniac say 'being a d**k' to keep up with the streamlined movie script and that's the only thing that hurt it, intact, that move also hurt the movie, there was no conflict between the characters once meeting up. I was sorely disappointed with the movie.
Still anticipating the next Ratchet game, if I know Insomniac, they're not done yet.

Insomniac ‘nervous’ About ‘giving people heart attacks’ with Edge of Nowhere

VRFocus reports on Edge of Nowhere developer Insomniac Games noting that it is 'nervous' about giving players 'heart attacks' with its VR title.

BigBosss3039d ago

Can someone please give me a brief summary about this game. I know its set in antarctica, but how exactly is this game meant to terrify someone. Thank you :)

creeping judas3039d ago

Everything you may want to know about the game is here.

1nsomniac3039d ago

...Nice job supplying a brief summary lol.

A full page of links>stories>articles. I gave up searching through those & still know nothing about the game.

creeping judas3039d ago

Well this is the brief summary from the very first article after this article.

"With our January cover focusing on the upcoming year of virtual reality games, we wanted to take a look at some longer experiences and not just the typical VR tech demos. One of those games was Edge of Nowhere from Insomniac Games, a game set in Antarctica that features a man named Victor Howard battling the elements and his own sanity as things descend into a Lovecraftian nightmare. Creative director and long-time Insomniac Brian Allgeier joined us in our studio for a chat to help explain the origins of the game and the bold experimentation involved in developing games for the Oculus Rift."

rezzah3037d ago

Lovecraftian.....

I'm sold.

ji32003039d ago (Edited 3039d ago )

main key point of VR is NOT just headtracking and 3d. Main key point for VR is enormous fiew of view which is bigger scale than IMAX movie theater screen size. how do i know its bigger? because oculus has Virtual IMAX movie theater that can sense the real size of movie theater enviroment and screen size.

showtimefolks3038d ago

Insomniac please release sunset overdrive on ps4

G20WLY3038d ago

I'd much rather they made a better game for PS4 or even both.

Dannycr3038d ago (Edited 3038d ago )

I'll give you a brief explanation. I've played it at E3 2015 with the Oculus.

It is set in the Antarctica, it's third person and there are no weapons. It kinda feels a bit like Uncharted. You start outside on Ice, you have to jump and grab ledges a couple of times (very much like uncharted but with a heavier feel when you jump), then you make it into a Cave which is extremely dark. By this point you are marveled by how immersive the Oculus is, then, when you make it into the cave, you see how dark places really feel like a real dark place where your only source of light comes from outside. You grab into a rope and start going down the cave. You actually move your head and look down the hole and it's pretty creepy. At this point you start hearing and seeing some dark creatures lurking around. They kinda look like Venom's symbiote. Later on you see a giant (symbiote like) creature and the cave colapses so you have to run and get away. I don't quite remember the end, but you end up in a nice and cozy room with a fireplace, your a bound to a chair and someone is talking, while you start seeing some tentacles (symbiote like) coming from behind you. It literally gives you goosebumps due to how creepy it feels.

And that's basically it. It is short but a really cool demo. I do understand why Insomniac is worried. This game isn't that intense, but something like "The Kitchen" and the immersiveness of the VR, i truly feel that some people can really be affected to the point of a heart attack o at least a physical or mental situation. It is THAT immersive.

R6ex3038d ago

As a gamer, I need to try VR someday to feel how immersive it really can be. However, it'll be expensive to get the necessary level of graphics power - Nvidia said it'll need 7 times more graphics muscles than the same game at 1080p30fps. In other words, CRAZY Expensive!

Muzikguy3038d ago

I know zilch about this game. Never even heard of it. If they're "worried" though I'm STOKED!! Very interested

considering how blurry and non immersive gear vr looks, and seeing that the oculus rift will have a worse display than our phones, I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS
so disapointed in vr, oh well I figured.
and from the article: sounds like your dumbing down the game yet again to fit the casuals, yet the biggest mistakes most of the devs do now a days, and they wonder why they sell so low, we NEED games like p.t, dont you understand that? if your so worried about heart attacks, first of all, put a clear warning before the game starts, and second of all, dont you think people who know they have weak hearts would know not to play this game? durrr, use your brains jesus

WeAreLegion3039d ago

Your phone doesn't have nearly the power of a PC or PS4. Games look great on those. The screen is important, but a game can only look as good as the hardware allows.

kmanmx3038d ago

Especially as the screen in Oculus Rift is significanntly better than the GearVR's S6 or Note 5 screeen. It uses more advanced technology, it has much high pixel fill factor to reduce screen door effect, it has better pixel peristence, global shutter, 90hz and low persistence. True it does have a slightly lower resolution, but the PC is also capable of rendering much higher quality graphics and supersampling at a massively higher resolution than GearVR is capable of.

Maddens Raiders3038d ago

You really need to get out more and do a lot more research before you get near a kb, because you have no idea what the Hell you're on about..

Erik73573039d ago

I really hope for no vr.....like Its not enjoyable for games its just gimicky to me.

Erik73573038d ago

Cause its called pc gaming and its had vr for like the past 2 years....and ive done it and it was cool but I dont think it was enjoyable for long 3+ hour playthroughs for video games...

user66660473039d ago

These game devs always think their games are far more amazing or terrifying than they actually are. No one is going to have a heart attack ffs. Just put this with the "Dead Space 3 has co op because it is too scary to play alone" bullshit haha.

UserNameIsNotTaken3039d ago

Well, they can't say "it's just like every other scary game, but hey buy it please".

81BX3038d ago

I find it odd that you dont find the truth very true.

Muzikguy3038d ago

Yeah lol that's true! Overhype has been bad lately. I just hope it's scary. And good!

@username lol that too yeah
