Take a tour of the story behind the events of OverStrike in this interview from GamesCom 2011 with Creative Director Brian Allgeier.
Adapt or Die and staying true to your heritage is a difficult balance to strike, says Insomniac.
Hopefully after Spiderman, IG makes either a new R&C game or Resistance or (crosses finger and toes) Sunset Overdrive 2.
I can’t wait until the next game in the series
It’s the most successful non-Mario 3D platformer series
I would love to see remakes of Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal in the same fashion as 2016 R&C. The 2016 remake was an 86 Metacritic but after platinuming the game i found it baffling as to why the game wasn't a 90+. It was absolutely stellar game development on virtually every level. I doubt they will remake the trilogy but we can hope.
I honestly believe a Resistance remaster or new game could in the works, i would love either.
I absolutely love this series from initially hating the first one for being 'too chunky', I quite liked the gameplay in Deadlocked/Gladiator, but not the direction. The Future series was near perfect including Q4B. The later R&C games from ACiT were middling and difficult to tell if they worked or not, but the art direction and storytelling was there. I never actually finished FFA.
The reboot of Ratchet and Clank was a 'greatest hits' whilst complimenting the flawed movie. Although a great game, and remake, if not the best to date, it had to cut loose with some of the character development from the original game of Ratchet not initially being a sympathetic wannabe hero type and as Insomniac say 'being a d**k' to keep up with the streamlined movie script and that's the only thing that hurt it, intact, that move also hurt the movie, there was no conflict between the characters once meeting up. I was sorely disappointed with the movie.
Still anticipating the next Ratchet game, if I know Insomniac, they're not done yet.
GI:
"After making Hanna Barbera's Cartoon Carnival for Phillips CD-i, Brian Allgeier went on to work on some of the biggest titles for PlayStation 2, most notably as the creative director of Insomniac Games' Ratchet & Clank series. He also was the creative director of Insomniac's co-op shooter, Fuse. He is now working on Edge of Nowhere, an exclusive VR title for Oculus Rift."
VRFocus reports on Edge of Nowhere developer Insomniac Games noting that it is 'nervous' about giving players 'heart attacks' with its VR title.
Can someone please give me a brief summary about this game. I know its set in antarctica, but how exactly is this game meant to terrify someone. Thank you :)
considering how blurry and non immersive gear vr looks, and seeing that the oculus rift will have a worse display than our phones, I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS
so disapointed in vr, oh well I figured.
and from the article: sounds like your dumbing down the game yet again to fit the casuals, yet the biggest mistakes most of the devs do now a days, and they wonder why they sell so low, we NEED games like p.t, dont you understand that? if your so worried about heart attacks, first of all, put a clear warning before the game starts, and second of all, dont you think people who know they have weak hearts would know not to play this game? durrr, use your brains jesus
I really hope for no vr.....like Its not enjoyable for games its just gimicky to me.
These game devs always think their games are far more amazing or terrifying than they actually are. No one is going to have a heart attack ffs. Just put this with the "Dead Space 3 has co op because it is too scary to play alone" bullshit haha.
