Wii's Popularity Is "Short Term"

Edit: Okay, I'll elaborate. I'll believe the Wii's popularity is "short term" as soon as demand for the system shows the slightly hint of decreasing. It's STILL really hard to find a Wii in most places.

For it's second Christmas go-round, apparently the Wii is being called the new "Tickle me Elmo" due to it's popularity. A year after the fact, with unparalleled success every step of the way as far as current consoles go. Haters are pathetic. Nuff said.

I assume a "real console" is decided by power.

So the PS2 was the fad of last gen compared to the "real consoles" that were the GC and Xbox.

I'm sure Nintendo dares not dream the Wii be a fad like that.

The PS3 is SERIOUSLY going to catch some heavy steam in the next 2-3 years. When its even cheaper and all the games are out. Watch it will be outselling the Wii, WORLDWIDE, then. And it will still be out another 5-6 years after that. LOL.

It's that Wii owners use is short term. Most Wii's are gathering dust. Again, just like with the Gamecube and N64, people will buy the Wii for Nintendo's exclusives. Not everyone likes them (See: Gamecube and N64).

Games I want for the Wii next year that have already been annouced:

Brawl, Endless Ocean, No More Heroes, Mario Kart, Mushroom Men, Okami, Monster Lab, Animal Crossing, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Dragon Quest Swords, and FF: CC

And here I was thinking most of them were 3rd party. Sure, Brawl is at the top of the list, but take a serious look at the list. Not many of them are Mario and Pokemon.

Endless Ocean is being made by Arika, not Nintendo. No More Heroes is being made by Grasshopper Manufacture, not Nintendo. I'm not sure who's making Mushroom Men, but, not Nintendo. Okami is being made by Ready at Dawn, not Nintendo.

You get the idea, though. Nintendo isn't making most of the games many people are really looking forward to for the Wii. You might already have your eyes on Mario Party 9, but, for me, these are the kinds of games I'm looking forward to.

Anyway, he didn't define what exactly "short-term" means so he could be right or wrong. Plus, the Wii isn't even out yet in South Korea* and it's still very popular worldwide.

Ya, This is getting old. Why doesn't he talk about Xbox 360 sales stalling and leveling out, Or how the PS3 has no games and is fading away(Obviously wouldn't bash their own system,but you see my point). I mean if you go with one cliche might as well go with them all.

Don't under estimate the dark side of the Wii. Mario Galaxy have a 9.7/10 and SMB is the top seller of all time 40m. I would be scared if they put SMG on bunddle with the Wii. And also Mari0 kart will come with a wii steering, and will goes online, that mean alot of fun. But their pub is massive. I will wait and watch.

You believe the PS3 is selling well, too, I'm sure. It's certainly not cheap, so that's not the reason, and its a bluray player in addition to a toy.

So is the PS3 selling well just for that second reason you have listed?
