Starhawk - Literally An 'Out-Of-The-World' Game

SegmentNext - "Starhawk is a spiritual successor to Warhawk, but is set beyond the friendly skies, in space filled with dark threatening asteroids instead of white clouds. The other thing that is different between the two games is that Starhawk has a singleplayer campaign."

Surely they meant 'out of THIS world'?

Warhawk was one of the most fun MP experiences this gen.

Starhawk will be DA BOMB!

Miiikeyyy3093d ago

Wouldn't it be nice if this got GOTY?

DigitalRaptor3093d ago

It would be nice, and I think it might claim some of the awards.

BioShock Infinite will probably be GOTY though.

I was really disappointed in Warhawk.

No wait, hear me out.

I know its a great game, some say one of the best multiplayer games still to this day.

But as a huge fan of the original on PSOne, and a single player, off-line gamer, it had nothing for me. And those early previews of hundred of ships flying with huge motherships had me so wound up too.

So when the multiplayer only game dropped, I was shattered.

From what I've heard of Starhawk, not only is there a SP game, but it could be limitless if they go the create, play, share route with it. Build your own missions and put them online. I'm sure I read that a while ago, I hope its made it to the final game. And why shouldnt it, you have huge open area to work in, and the ability to build on the fly. Its really a no brainer.

Starhawk could be a sleeper megahit.

I think you let your expectations ruin a brilliant game, however if you really aren't a fan of competitive online I can understand how it wouldn't appeal to you.

I guess I feel lucky that I never played (or even heard of) the original Warhawk. I went in, like you, a mostly single player gamer but still ended up investing hundreds of hours and I do believe it's "one of the best multiplayer games still to this day".

I clicked agree to your comment as I too felt that a single player campaign was 'missing' from what could have been a near perfect all round game. Now with Starhawk seemingly bringing us both what we want PLUS an innovative new 'build and battle' system; I have to look back and thank the community that supported the game, giving the devs an excuse to bring us an awesome sequel.

Same here. I guess I was lucky too, not to see those concept trailers Bathyj is talking about before I got the game. The trailers looked amazing once I saw them, but at that point I couldn't care less about the campaign. Multi-player was just so much fun.

I never played Warhawk but Starhawk looks really awesome.

I really like how the build and battle system looks. Hopefully it plays just as good.

i do not understand why people like this game? you are all fans of flying shooters or something? i do not like stuff like that

BitbyDeath3093d ago

The beauty of the game is that you don't have to fly.
You can do whatever you want.
In Warhawk i was more into stealth kills

Reminds me of the early days of Mech Warrior. Definitely something worth checking out.
