Way too early to call it superior. Steamworks is nice as all hell, but 360 owners will still enjoy this game. They certainly enjoyed Portal 2. Do I prefer the free to play online, cross plat play, Move, M/KB Steamworks integrated version of CS? Yes.

the game may end up being sub-par, who knows, but its definitely not to early to call which version superior. Those three things are BIG deals to anybody remotely interested in CS (specifically mouse/key+cross platform).

Console FPS players are scrubs(not noobs) and can't play to win. After the first two weeks of the game, after the casuals leave bitching about camping, you're going to need some real competition.

In CS there are a lot of campers, always someone camping, specially when there is 1 guy left and the other team is looking for him.

Counter strike is the grand daddy of all online shooters dude. four years ago i could choose from 17,000 different servers and there were zombie mods and a whole bunch of fun stuff to do. It's an awesome game. You should try it out before you play the new one. It's pretty addicting.

Like Portal 2 did? We are nearing an age when the 3 Million sales MS has over Sony barely matters. Youre calling the game a huge update? Might be, yes, but Valve's updates own what most "devs" call updates nowadays. Id rather give Valve my money for this "update" than be forced to pay for free content on the 360 (L4D2).

Regardless, the game is looking well and more Counter Strike is always good in an age of cookie cutter shooters.

I like how Sony is taking a MS concept that they scrapped and is turning it into some thing useful. Cross-platform play was nice but MS failed at implementing it properly. Shadowrun was nice but that was the only game they had. Like how sony is actually working with Steam to get more and more games out there that utilize this feature.

tho i agree that the PC version is better at least they are allowing keyboard and mouse on the PS3 version, the only players that will have the disadvantage would be the 360 owners since they cant use keyboard and mouse.

@gamer, though you can use a mouse and keyboard with your 360. (thanks for the post) the game may not support them on the system, sine the PS3 was designed to use keyboard and mouse since the beginning and the 360 requires you to use an addon.

It's a shame that it doesn't look like Steamworks is coming to the 360 because it's kind of like a hybrid of PC and console which you'd think Microsoft wold kind of be into because the PC is their home turf.

It just comes down to Xbox Live. Steam is looking to be a direct competitor to the Live brand. Sony is very smart to open up to Valve and I honestly feel if Sony really wanted to drop a megaton they wouuld swap out PSN for Steam all together, at least for all things gaming related.

What I would find ideal and I'm sure people will disagree is to see the new Sony Entertainment Network with Qriocity (music and video), TV/Movies (Hulu, Espsn, Netflix) and Steam (all things gaming).

If that happened Microsoft would be forced to drop the yearly fee for Xbox Live or at the very least make it open to watch Netflix without paying extra. Heck, you don't even have to pay extra on Wii!

i totally agree with you a partnership between Sony and Valve to have Steam integrated into the PS3 for their online service would be pretty cool . that way their digital distribution would be bigger and server stability would be better and it would more or less be a centralized point for servers. so no going thru User agreements thru every game just one for steam and your good to go.

This is great news. If you look through my comment history there are probably 10 pleas to bring an updated version of counterstrike with move and mouse/kb support to PS3. This is like a dream come true. My favorite FPS of all time, with move, on a 55" HDTV(and surround sound maybe to hear the campers).

I don't think steam will ever be fully integrated into the PS3, I believe they will be exclusive to steam games Otherwise steam will need a cut from all game sales to keep up with the flooding of their servers if they use Digital Distribution (Which is kind of the whole point of steam).

well the game graphics look outdated by today standards.Valve is full of money with steam,what the shoud do is build a new engine because the Source engine is looking very outdated.
