Capcom reveals what’s blocking Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. localization

Capcom’s Christian Svensson comments about the roadblock they are facing in regards to the localization of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. for the Playstation 3 in the west.

It's always anyone else fault but capcom's.

They blame Sony for the DRM they put on Final Fight themselves

They blame Nintendo for the DRM they put on RE coming for the 3ds themselves.

As pirate said below, Konami and Ready at Dawn had no problem bringing their products remastered to the ps3. Capcom just wants to be lazy and place blame everywhere but themselves.

I don't get this... I mean this is, literally, just the PSP game upscaled and running on PS3.... however, both Kojima with Peace Walker and Ready at Dawn with God of War have managed to make them PS3 titles with all the PS3 features.

I hope Sony don't approve it unless Capcom actually make it a PS3 title.

From what i can gather those games you mentioned allready have english versions making it easier but this one doesn't so the modification of the adhoc party is what is stopping them.

If they had released a normal PSP version in the west already then it would have been easier.

I read that part also. But the fault still lies in their court for not localizing in the first place then.

And there shouldn't be any need to use adhoc if they just properly remade it and used psn. The bottom line is like I said before, they just want to be lazy. They intentionally are avoiding using the PSN features to make a quick buck on what's already in place from the psp (adhoc). Laziness plain and simple.

I agree with them not localising it fast enough but it may be because of the PSP's situation in the west.

SE who releases every Final Fantasy outside to the west are taking their time doing so with Type-0. It could be why Capcom wants to go through the PS3 route for this game instead of the PSP. It could be for greed or it could just be to get more awareness and to avoid the PSP's piracy.

For the trophies Sony Japan themselves said remasters do not have trophies which is why i said they did not have them but looking here it looks like Sony themselves are confused. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... I

No PSP remaster games have trophies because their save files are compatible between the PSP and PS3.

At the end of the day if it comes down to having the game come out without trophies I will take that. Because I would much prefer to play the game without trophies then not play it at all. So I hope Sony can find a way for Capcom to bring the game out of Japan.

Plus if Capcom can bring the game out of Japan I hope they will bring the PSP version out too.
