Top 5 Best Looking Games on PS3

"Ever since, the current gen consoles were released, there’s always been a never ending debate between the loyal customers of PS3 and Xbox 360, as to which console has the better looking games. While there’s no denying that some of the multiplatform games do look better on Xbox 360 but when it comes to exclusive titles, PS3 easily takes the lead. But we are not here to settle this issue, we just want to share a list of games that we feel absolutely showcase the power of PS3."

Graphics wise, heavy rain was amazing in parts but it wasn't consistent throughout the whole game. Some parts just didn't look that great for whatever reason.

why is it that when websites make these lists they only include one entry per series?

Killzone 2 has much better graphics than GT5 and probably even Crysis 2, but apparently when KZ3 came out KZ2 ceased to exist for some reason

I think one of the best parts was with Nathaniel (Christian dude). The graphics on that scene were easily the best in the whole game IMO.

Heavy Rain definitely should make the list. The rendering technology behind the character models was well done.

inFamous 2 is one of the best looking games on PS3 IMO. The textures are so crisp and sharp and it had a great art style.

There were a lot of low res textures in Infamous 2, especially on random NPC's, but it was an openworld game and they tend to be more demanding!

But it easily bests any console openworld game... and most games openworld or not!

When I pop in Uncharted 2, I always think this looks great, but I've become use to it and there are no more surprises. No matter how many times I pop in GOW3 after having not played it for awhile, I am always blown away!

From what we have seen of Battlefield 3 on ps3 i think its going to be the best looking console game.

False. It will look good but Killzone's engine is custom built for the PS3 and PS3 only. The FPS crown will stay with KZ2/3 for quite a while. In my opinion anyway

I own both killzone 2 and 3 and i didnt like the graphics, Sure they are really detailed but it looks so grey and lifeless

i disagreed with you because killzone 3 will remain fps graphics king i think, but dont take the disagrees badly, it just means that we think battlefield 3 looks awesome but killzone 3 looks astonishingly incredible. And the game looks lifeless sometimes but some parts are beautiful, and i like the dark look of killzone

I would also place God of War III at #1, although I could definitely see how others would choose Uncharted 2 or Killzone 3. For me God of War III combines epic scale, detail, and smooth animation that never ceases to amaze. If there is one game that exceeded my expectations of what the current consoles could do graphically, this would be it.

Uncharted 2, my choice for #2, is the one that seems to achieve incredible visuals most naturally and effortlessly. It's effects are more subtle and blend in seamlessly. The animation may also be the best I've seen this generation (I mean quality and variety, not frame rate).

Killzone 3, my third choice, would be the pick of those really into the in-your-face post processing effects, which do look awesome. I was also very impressed with the lighting and environments. I think KZ3 has a slight disadvantage compared to the other two games in that Helgan is inherently a rather dingy wasteland of a world, especially compared to the beautiful settings found in much of Uncharted 2.

Uncharted 2 is for me the best looking game on consoles and I prefer it over many pc titles because of it art style.

List needs KZ2. Both KZ3 and KZ2 deserve to be there. KZ2 looked jawdroppingly awesome when it released.

There are half a dozen games I'd replace Crysis 2 with. inFamous 2, Killzone 2, MLB The Show. We can even add in downloadable games like Flower.

Let me first say that I liked Crysis 2 alot, single player more than multiplayer but none the less alot. But saying that it is one of the top 5 visually impressive games on the PS3? There are many other games that would easily take its place. The other games I honestly can say yes they belong there but there are many that could replace Crysis 2.

Resistance 3 looks pretty darn sharp. Better than Crysis 2, but not as great as the other 4. Battlefield 3 looks on par with R3 as well.

I still got to play Heavy Rain, but im saving that for when I get Move with the Doomsday Edition of R3.

Pretty good list, but I would replace Crysis 2 with Heavy Rain.

Heavy Rain is a wonderful looking game, still have it with like 14 more endings to complete :P the story is amazing.
