idk demon souls was good, for bout the first 8 hours. when i couldnt beat the first level it got boring doing it all OVER AGAIN!!,,, OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! man fuck that game.

Demons Souls is an awesome game, very difficult and brutally punishing but equally rewarding.

Your frustration towards the game is expressed well in your comment. The first boss WAS hard, until I learned to think about how to defeat him, instead of just hacking away with little regard to strategy and timing.

I have a quick question about Demon Souls if anyone here could tell me the answer. Is there any way to do the boss fights again without having to play a + game? I was playing last night and a blue soul came to help me, and damn he just owned everyone then took out the Spider boss like it was nothing. Is there any way I can fight the spider again? I feel like I cheated through it, and want to beat it on my own.

It's a lot more than "anything" like Demon's Souls. I played Demon's Souls for hundreds of hours, and I can tell you without hesitation that it looks extremely similar in style. One of the boss battles in a trailer looks like 3-2 boss encounter 2.0 from Demon's Souls. Every time I see new footage it reminds me more of Demon's Souls. I really can't wait for this one.

For some it might be. I will be picking it up but I find it hard to pick only one game of the year. Skyrim is tough competition as well, if we look at the RPG genre. My personal GOTY, as in the game I will invest most time in, will probably be Battlefield 3.

Dark Souls might not make the popular vote for GOTY, but it will be GOTY for the gamers who enjoy the hardcore unforgiving nature of the game, similar to games some of us grew up playing way back in the days.

I couldn't agree more. I know the competition is stiff this year but it certainly has an excellent chance in at least getting my top vote =) It's unforgiving as can be but in the end, when you finally finish it, you realize how much you truly enjoyed the entire experience.

I would certainly like for Dark Souls to be GOTY. Demon's Souls was my 2009 game of the year, and *I don't even own a PlayStation 3.* It was that good of a game, for me.

Being able to play the spiritual successor on my own console is such a godsend. If it's as fun as Demon's Souls, I would almost definitely put it in the top 3 games for this year, and this year has a RIDICULOUS lineup already.

It could even tie or beat Skyrim for RPG of the year, despite it being a completely different type of RPG.
