Why bother!? Cos Europe needs an awesome gaming event to compete with E3!!! That's why, plus it's good for the industry in general.

DaveX3604640d ago

Yeah, but the only think that has been announced is a price drop for the PS3. At least, it seems that way..

jimmins4640d ago

Yeah, but no one's going to say 'Hey, let's not go to E3 and wait to announce our game at Gamescom'... well, some might, but they are all but guaranteed to be German, obscure, and working on a PC-only RPG of some kind.

Any 1 know when MS press conference starts?

TheOtherTheoG4640d ago

-luke_skywalker- they aren't doing one this year.

Wait, so your site writes something stupid and you're the first to disagree? Is this some ploy to get bubbles or something?

This article is just plain ridiculous. Gamescom has shown off a lot more of gameplay itself, and it comes later than E3 and some games are more polished by that time. E3 was more about announcements and pleasing investors, but showed off a lot for gamers. What, do we need EVERYTHING crammed into one event?

Narutone664640d ago

Why bother? Yeah, why? Since MS already abandoned the core gamers and concentrating on the casual market.

TGS is going to be the best conference this year. With the new games just being rumored its not even close..........

Hell the new shining game reveal, dragon quest X, new megaten, new falcom games, new nis games, new idea factory games, new namco games, new square games, and more

thats what I want to see more than anything.........

JsonHenry4640d ago

I'm just hoping Victory games will announce SOMETHING about the new Command and Conquer game they making since they didn't show or say anything at E3.

ardivt4640d ago

can't complain at this point. and there's more gameplay to come.

Yes it is.

Halo:Anniversary should be the 1st remake to be nominated for a GOTY slot.

Hozi4616d ago

Halo is the only FPS multiplayer game that never gets boring. The feel of the multiplayer is amazing. You all who play since Halo:CE know what I mean.

X_GAMER_X4616d ago

I know what you mean dude. Halo is magic. Its the only game I always go back play the campaign. Not many games give that feeling. Evey time you play the campaign you find it new and exciting. Played throu my Halo ce 10 years copy for about one month ago. Still amazing like the first time. Almost every game you buy now you want just to finish it and park it. As for multiplayer. You said it bro, its awsome. Can not wait for anniversary

Dota 2 preview: How Valve is building its first RTS from the ground up (DigitalTrends)

John Gaudiosi writes:Valve’s rich history with first-person shooters gets a break with Dota 2, a real-time strategy game that started life as a humble Warcraft mod.

Valve celebrated its latest video game, Dota 2, in a very big way at Gamescom 2011. The game maker awarded Team Na’Vi from Ukraine $1 million for winning the inaugural Dota 2 Invitational video game tournament, which took place at its booth over the course of five days in Cologne, Germany. Erik Johnson, product manager on Dota 2 at Valve, talks about the new game and why it’s a departure for the makers of hit franchises like Half-Life, Left 4 Dead and Portal.
