I found headlines like this for the PS3

http://n4g.com/news/72752/i...

Then gamers waited and now it has a more varied exclusive lineup than the Wii/360 combined..and is currently outselling the 360 worldwide.

I waited for the to PS3 show its potential and it delivered. I will give Kinect the same courtesy.

EDIT: Btw, isn't Dance Central the most critically acclaimed exclusive this generation between Kinect and Move?

I look at all the Kinect games they had for launch and I can't name one that was actually worthy of spending $150 bucks on a peripheral to play.

I see the same thing for this years lineup of Kinect games as well. The only thing I'm remotely interested in is that Star Wars game and that doesn't look all that great...

LOGICWINS4638d ago (Edited 4638d ago )

I agree. I wouldn't buy Kinect for anything more than $100 with the current lineup. The only two games that are true standouts are Dance Central and UFC Personal Trainer.

If you read the user reviews on Amazon/Gamestop etc. the majority of people are giving these games excellent reviews. Most importantly, these games are FUN, but they can obviously be better. Once Kinect's full potential has been fulfilled, I will buy it.

"The only thing I'm remotely interested in is that Star Wars game and that doesn't look all that great..."

I agree. That Star Wars game looks like crap lol. But like every game, I'd like to try it out the final version before a make a stance. The fact that its on rails doesn't bother me, but from what I saw, its not very accurate.

Yes, other than Dance games it's utterly useless.

The controls get boring fast.

Jump on spot, lean left, lean right, run on spot, point finger at screen and fire ' Pew, Pew, Pew'........LOL

It can't do games unless they on rails.

MOVE altogether the better option.

allyc4t4638d ago

I think move is in the same boat. I cant name one game im dying to play for it.

VinnieMac4637d ago

I agree 100%. Using no controller with the Kinect is what sold it, but it can also be it's downfall, just because like you said, everything has to be on rails.

Some of the Kinect games shown at e3 this year looked like they would be pretty decent, but without a controller to actually control where you're going, a lot of the experience of the game could be lost.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast20d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22920d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko20d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
