"From mechanized Hitler robots to undersea scientific societies, video games have long enjoyed chronicling the tales that history books thought best to omit. Jamestown continues this tradition as it follows the adventures of the 17th century explorer, Raleigh, a fugitive of the English crown who fled to the New World to discover what happened to the lost colony of Roanoke and clear his name. Except by “New World,” we mean the floating islands of Mars, and by “discover” we really mean hop in his tiny spaceship and annihilate the combined forces of the Spanish Conquistadors and the tentacled aliens."
A look at Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony the must-play indie game of the week.
Nineoverten.com writes: "I wish I found out about this sooner but Jamestown is an awesome indie shmup and an excellent lunch-time gameplay experience. I actually bought the game some time ago during one of the Humble Bundle events, but left it idle in my Steam account until recently."
Taking place on the planet Mars, Jamestown is a steampunk-infused colonial history. There are parallels to actual people and events, such as Spanish conquistadors and the mysterious disappearance of the Roanoke colony. At the same time, there are laser beams, robots and other fanciful features. All of this is wrapped in beautiful faux-retro dressings.
Isn't this just PC? How did this get approved without even a PC listing much less Xbox?
