Gaming Irresponsibly speculates on the possible story directions and additions that could be part of a God of War sequel.
To a cave I say
The TURKIC mythology! Just imagine fighting alongside Ghengis Khan, Atilla the Hun from Central Asian steppes all the way down to Europe to fight against the Pope and Romans! I quote Ghengis Khan: "I am the punishment of God...If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.”" This guy was the definition of EPIC
how can a demigod/exgod escape the underworld two times and zeus, poseidon, athena, the titans, and hades can't escape the underworld one time?!...it is a story without closure. part 4 should be kratos vs all of the other gods if he wins him and his family are returned to earth to live out their lives but can't touch the gods anymore right?,,, else it is a never ending cycle dead, kill, escape, kill, dead, escape,....if they want to finally bring closure to this hole the only way that logically makes sense is pardoning him and his family after an all out fight or kill them in the underworld...then where will they go?...dead for real, right?? Make two endings like infamous that you can choose from after sending the gods back to the underworld, go there to finish em off for good or the gods offer Kratos to free wife and daughter from underworld in return for them to restore the order of olympus by letting them escape the underworld and end their beef between kratos, ares, and zeus. Hades went where?, ....i'm still confused he was killed, he should be right where he has always been....the underworld right, he wasn't a soul he was a god., athena is there running her mouth as a soul, and even zeus was seen post death.??.meaning they could escape like Kratos. ie never ending cycle.
Either Norse mythology or Egyptian mythology. Those two would make the most sense. I'm leaning more towards Egyptian mythology. Although I would prefer to go against Greek mythology any day...
No no no no.... it would either be Chinese, Indian, or African mythology! Black kratos would fit. Chinese kratos...um ew. Indian Kratos...LOL
Seen a lot of greek mythology in games already, Either Norse or Egyptian would make a brilliant path, neither have been used enough in games and with norse, too human really didn't do for it what I hoped it would
Wasn't Norse mythology suppose to be the first choice of GOW? I think this time they can make it happen. Then again I would really miss Kratos and his umm... fatality moves against the gods. lol!
No Greek Mythology = No Kratos
Kratos vs Jesus
The Battle of Thermopylae seems more of an add on story. Like a Pirates of the caribbean on stranger tides to the pirates of the caribbean trilogy. The main GOW trilogy was about revenge. IMO ditch kratos and go for a different mythology but the problems with that is they are very similar. (Roman and Greek mythology and gods have the same stories and the gods are basically the same with different names)
I hope it's the start of an entirely new story ark. New protagonist, new antagonist, new setting, etc.
Maybe Kratos will be a man of peace and prosperity...someones got to set the world straight after how GoW3 ended. lol :P
Screw that I want his ass to be unsane as ever lol
It should be a first person shooter. Those are a rarity as of late.
In my ps3 soon as I buy it day one.....GOW3 was so good I dnt care if 4 costs 100 bucks im buying day one
Considering Athena, whatever she was in GoW3, is still out there, I assume Kratos, who is still alive, will try to finish her off for good.
LOL Kratos battling her ghost after she helps him, he's gonna need some holy water, a crucifix, and some garlic before he f**ks her up.
Exactly. Athena is still alive and plotting to control humanity. Also if Athena can become something else in death whose to say the other gods can't do it too? Zeus was king of the Gods. I am sure he could transend into a new form even after death. Or we could just introduce a new character for the series: Kratos's hot, young daughter who only wears a loin cloth and fights like her father. @ Raven_Nomad *spoiler* . Kratos was still alive after he stabbed himself with the sword. All we saw was the blood stain on the ground but not him. Besides there is no Hades or underworld anymore. Kratos destroyed it. He can't go to a place that doesn't exist. Kratos can't die unless his soul can go to Hades but Hades is dead.
Wherever it goes it cant have Kratos. How many times can we play him escaping from Hades? Dude killed himself at the end of part 3, that was a big effing sword, there is no coming back from that!
(Spoiler!) As much as it pains me to agree with you Raven, in this case, you're right. Kratos killed himself comprehensively at the end of GOW3, so potentially the door is open for a new protagonist.
He survived it. His body was missing and their was a blood trail leading off the cliff. unless someone snatched it XD
Thank you, so I wasn't the only one who saw this. In my books if the body is missing then the story isn't over.
I say ditch Kratos for the simple fact that he's such a one dimensional character. He knows nothing but rage and violence. This would be a good opportunity for a new protagonist to step in. One with a more interesting or complex character development that can display different human characteristics.
Well maybe if you'd been tricked by the gods and killed your own family you'd be full of rage and violence to get your revenge.
Man Raven, You should have watched the youtube video all the way through!
Kratos is still alive, his body was missing and there was a blood trail leading to the cliff. It will take way more than that to kill him, the guy even returned from the underworld twice.
Also you can notice the shape of a bird on the ground (possibly Phoenix).
Prequel or it won't happen. And by won't I mean can't.
3 games already on greek mytholoy so you think they'll change it. i really dont care what they do as long as its as good looking as gow3.
I really like the Egyptian idea.
I too want to see a game based from that =D
God of War is based purely off of Greek mythology. How are other Mythologies from other cultures supposed to coincide? Let's keep some authenticity here... However, if they do jump ship to another mythology, I feel that it will simply be the same formula of having some badass finding some reason to take on the entire cast of mythical characters, so either keep going with Kratos, make a spin-off with another protagonist set in the God of War world, or just let the series end and start something new.
It will be about Kratos trying to find redemption. He'll notice Athena starting to take over the world because she has no more restrictions & Kratos will bring back or re-create the gods as he realizes that some balance is better than no balance. At the end the gods will respect him & reward him by letting him into heaven to be with his family. Then a new God of War can be made on PS4.
THE MAYANS! THAT WOULD BE PERFECT.
I had an idea where b/c you absorbed Hades' soul, his soul takes over Kratos' weakened body and controls it. Hades plans on ressurecting the gods with him as the new leader, plotting to make Earth into a 'living underworld'. You play as Kratos' bro, who had been given life again b/c of Kratos liberating the underworld in GOW3. You must escape the the underworld and defeat Hades to free your brother Kratos
GOW 4? IDK how it would have been, it kind of ends when Kratos have defeated the greek gods. Kratos is not dead, I mean if you played the first game and saw the final cutscene then you should know that he took control over the world. Maybe there is something I havent quite catched that allows for a good sequel to 3, but I think they might just do a prequel or give Kratos a damn rest.
