Tabata Pledges to Make Final Fantasy Type-0 Fixes

FinalFantasy-XIII.net: With the demo for Final Fantasy Type-0 being out for a few days now, Square has had plenty of feedback on the experience from the players themselves. There have been a couple of major complaints, mainly the poor camera and the Phantoma system.

That's nice, now where's FF Versus XIII?

Kurisu5067d ago

Versus will have it's time. For now it's time for Type-0 to shine, and after playing the demo I can say it will be worth the wait.

Foxgod5067d ago

My complaint is that this game exists, how are they going to fix that :)

I really want a new final fantasy in the style of the first 7, aka a non linear game, with good designs, a menu driven system with character specific skills, and a magic system based on crystals/classes.

Capt-FuzzyPants5067d ago (Edited 5067d ago )

You basically just described Type-0. It sorta has a magic system, from what I've seen the game will be pretty non-linear, and the characters all have different skills. Give it a try you might like it.

If you don't want the game to exist then don't play it.

Foxgod5067d ago

No, not really anything close to the first 7 FF's.

RedDead5067d ago (Edited 5067d ago )

Don't get me wrong, but FF7 wasn't that good for Magic system etc...Magic became useless by the end, character classes ala FF4,5,9,10 are better. The only difference between characters in FF7 was limits and ranged or not.

FF Versus has characters who are BETTER than others at stuff, Noctits is good with Fire and has average health etc, muslce chap is good with Punching and stuff, Propto is good with guns and is the only one who can aim..... They are sorta like classes. Type 0 also has sorta a class system, with ranged, close, magic and healing/shields etc. The characters play alot different, one of them can even teleport.

Oh yeah and in versus Noctis is the only one who has the red eye bloodline ability which you can basically call a limit that surpasses the rest(such a rip from Naruto though lol...check out uchiha Sasuke's ability and compare them to Noctis, then ook at the character design and be amazed at the blatant plagiarism)

Edit:
haha, the style and setting of Versus is already raping the other games imo

Foxgod5067d ago (Edited 5067d ago )

Only near the end, where you relied on summons, which are part of the magic system as well.
FF7 was a lot like FF6, where you learned skills from whatever materia you equiped.

And you really had to look for materia's, which gave the non linear aspect.

And when it comes to VS13, i hope it really will be different from 8 to 13, it doesnt have to be like the first 7, as long as its diff from 8 to 13....

My complaint for foxgod are:

Judging by his/her comment, he even don't play the Type-0 demo (or even have a PSP)
but the only thing he can do are bashing and bashing in every Type-0 articles

dude, you need a life!

Great to hear that they're fixing the problems. I had problems with the camera because I'm accustomed to using a second analog stick to control the camera. I think this game will be nice on the PSV.

Capt-FuzzyPants5067d ago

Yea it was hard to move around and then use the d pad to adjust the camera at the same time

Kurisu5067d ago

I thought that the camera was difficult to use at first, having to take my thumb off the anologue nub to use the dpad. But I've found that pressing the R button resets the camera to the way your character is facing, which makes things a little easier.

Inception5066d ago (Edited 5066d ago )

Already download the demo, play it, and very addictive (for me).

Yes, it had some flaws like the camera but i'll get used to it. Also the phantoma system a little difficult to do when you had two or three enemies body in the same time. But good news they already fixed it.

Overall Type-0 will be great
- The battle are fast paced like Crisis Core with fourteen characters (seven in the demo) that had unique weapon and style (and you can swap them anytime).

- Summons who need one character sacrife (if you called Shiva or other summons, one character must die and they will live again after you finish the mission) that will make us took strategic approach.

- High difficulty enemies. If some of you play the demo, you know the 4th mission is impossible to beat if you not do it "carefully".

- Great graphics. This is one FF who had bloods and violence everywhere. Even though there a little framerate problem

- Great music. Victory fanfare is back with crystal theme played in the background when you eksplored the school.

And Type-0 will be more great with multiplayer aspect when you / you're friends can work together in battles via wifi or eksplore the world map with chocobo / airship (the demo don't have this stuff).

For PSP owner and a fans of (J)RPG, Type-0 is a must!

Final words, i hope SE can make a quality RPG like this for console.

How Final Fantasy’s First M-Rated Game Laid the Foundation for XVI’s Dark Tone

Final Fantasy XVI demonstrates how the franchise has matured since the release of its first M-rated installment, Final Fantasy Type-0.

Type-0 Is The Darkest Final Fantasy Ever Made

DS: “I hate that Type-0 is forgotten among the Final Fantasy games. While not the strongest entry, its mature story makes it stand out from the others. And even though Final Fantasy now has three rated M games — including Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Final Fantasy XVI, — Type-0 will always have the crown of being the first, and arguably the darkest.”

i agree that it is indeed dark, but it has its issues.

and i feel like the ending is what makes it really a dark final fantasy game.

the rest is more or less war where teenagers fight.

This game was the epitome of the FF dark age pretty much, was hella boring and the gameplay was tedious. I'm glad SE got the series back on track

gold_drake746d ago

well, it was more of a spin off rly.
especially after they dropped the fabula nova crystalis stuff

H9746d ago

I actually really love this game, the main problem however was that the entire story and personality of the characters, was in the lore that you need to dig very deep to find and external materials outside of the game, honestly it has my favorite lore in the franchise, I wish they had made the game more story focused, god it would have been a masterpiece

The Best Final Fantasy Spin-Off Titles Ever Released

Xfire writes "The Final Fantasy franchise is nearly as old as the video game industry itself.

First released way back in 1987, what initially started as a hail mary title has since turned into a media franchise that has spawned more than a dozen mainline titles and been featured in other forms of media, making hundreds of millions of dollars along the way.

But while the mainline titles get all of the attention -- all eyes are currently on Final Fantasy 16 -- the franchise also has a handful of spin-off titles that are just as good as the mainline titles."

I enjoyed World of Final Fantasy and I love Crisis Core

SDuck1584d ago

Do you even know what a spinoff is?

FallenAngel19841584d ago

Do you? if you even have to ask that

FallenAngel19841583d ago (Edited 1583d ago )

@ cool

It’s more than just having characters. KH uses various gameplay mechanics, themes, terminology, & aesthetics from FF.

It just happens to be a spin-off that’s also a crossover, similar to fellow spin-off crossover titles such as Pokémon Conquest, Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle, & Warriors All Stars

coolfool1584d ago

Does including characters from a game make it a spin off? If so, is Smash Bros a spinoff of Metal Gear Solid? 😕

Nerdmaster1584d ago (Edited 1584d ago )

I would put Bravely Default as the best Final Fantasy spin off, even though it doesn't carry the Final Fantasy name (although the japanese version does have the subtitle Flying Fairy so it could carry the FF acronym).

About the games in the list, I like Dissidia 012 a lot, but my favorite is Theatrhythm. I still turn on my old 3DS from time to time to play a few songs.
I wish it had some remixed or orchestrated versions of the old songs, though. NES/SNES songs are nostalgic, but when played by an orchestra they're taken to another level. Strange that some people complained that Theatrhythm Dragon Quest did exactly that... I guess nostalgia does speak loudly.
