To most of you reading this, you probably have no remote idea of what Gotham City Impostors is. And that’s for the better because Gotham City Impostors is a train wreck waiting to happen… at least in EGR's eyes.
give it a chance, geez the nerve of this guy.
or even realistic just in the sense of the character. Batman has always relied more on physical, ninja-style takedowns and combat. Unless the developer can make this FPS project with the gamer throwing a bunch of Batarangs all over the damn place look and feel plausible and not irrational or out of character, I don't see it being anything more than a desperate grasp to all the COD fanboys out there.
Except it's not really about Batman at all. Seems to me the game is more about Gotham than either the Bat or his Clown Prince counterpart.
Here's a gameplay trailer: http://gamersyde.com/stream...
for the most part i agree. it's a clone of team fortress, and it could be a good one. but in no way is it a batman game. it is one of the worst examples of a license shoehorned into a game that doesn't suit it. it's like making a superman racing game. hold on, didn't most of superman 64 involve racing through rings? how was that game again? i'm gonna give the developers the benefit of the doubt and assume they were making their team fortress 2 style game and the publisher decided they had to force the batman license into the game and they did the best they could.
DC doesn't respect the IP either. They killed Batman and then had him travel through time back to the present as a near immortal while Nightwing (formerly Robin) became Batman, and then he came back started Batman Incorporated and now they are rebooting a lot of it. Batman has been $#@$ing terrible since about 1992. At least this doesn't actually have Batman in it and it looks kind of fun and silly. As opposed to stupid and silly and having Batman in it. Like the crap comics.
What? Here we go... Okay, first of all, you may not have liked Batman R.I.P, Battle for the Cowl, and Return of Bruce Wayne Story Arcs, but they were excellent. Not only that, but they have received a lot of praise from many reviewers online. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the Return of Bruce Wayne or Batman Inc operated, but they were well received by critics. DC however, does respect the IP. All these story arcs were great. Dick as Batman has also been great. Have you read the recent Detective Comic issues? Fucking spectacular. Gates of Gotham is turning out awesome as well. As for the Reboot, nothing is really changing. Damian is still around, The Killing Joke still happened, Nightwing was still Batman, etc. But you sound like a hater, so keep on hatin.
lol got him!
well, this article was a waste of time. some dude bashing on a game he hasnt seen anything beyond some trailers, have never played it, and quite frankly making unrelated comparisons. Sure the word FPS and Batman shouldnt be together in a game, oh but look at that, the game is called Gotham City Impostors... where is the Batman in that title. To me its really simple, its a game based on the Batman world, not on batman himself, so there really shouldnt be so much hate coming from batman fans, at least you could wait until someone actually sits down and plays it
How is this disrespectful to the IP? Look at the game. I think it embodies the more wackier parts of the Batman universe quite well. Just because nothing like this happens in the comics or the movies, doesn't mean it's impossible or doesn't fit in.
from what i seen looks fun.
As if we haven't enough of this pew pew garbage these past few years.
Except... Batman's not in the shooter...
The game is supposed to be funny. It's not disrespecting anything.
