THQ announced today that the company will increase "emphasis on high potential categories" at its five internal development studios and reduce its "focus on kids and movie-based licensed titles for consoles."
. THQ is following EA`s example of just copying whatever is the big game at the moment. Dropping all the children's games may be a good thing as a MORE qualified pub can pick up those licences. THQ recently received a rather big embarrassing slap from the courts as they were stealing all of Ubisofts employees...real weasels these guys are just like EA. It`s going to get worse over there.
It's probably a good move, but sad to see 200 job losses any day. Darksiders is by far there best new IP (it's awesome), but they should still be working on Homefront and Red Faction imo, because Homefront does have potential. Red Faction also just took a wrong turn with the latest game, they should have stuck to open world like in Guerrilla.
They cut jobs? and they have just opened a new studio in montreal? All i want from them so far is Darksiders 2.
Hey! Don't forget about STALKER series and Metro >_>
Glad to see it was cutting from the movie and kid based games and not more hardcore. But still sad to see anyone get laid off.
