The GodisaGeek.com Vault – Top 5 Games I Just Couldn’t Love

"This isn’t just an excuse to callously pick holes in towering achievements in gaming, it is a battle cry for everyone who has ever picked up the latest installment of “Triple-A Sci-Fi blaster Y” or “Bog Standard Military Shooter 7” and thought to themselves “Am I the only one who doesn’t get this game?”. No dear friend, fellow gamer, and exceptional human being – you are far from alone. It is perfectly acceptable not to love the gaming franchises that everyone else tells you are fantastic, and you aren’t the only person to think that way."

Golden eye N64 I loved Multiplayer to bits.
But I could't do the campaign as before this gen I was Ignorant to story and Intel so never understood what I had to do the only missions I could do was 'dam' up to 'bunker' (on easy) after that I could never work out what to do lol.

Gran tourismo 5 let me down as It was a fun to play great online but when I wanted to complete single player races I'd never really understand what car was from where or If it fitted In this genre type for the race or paying for a car I thought that was find out It was not and having to do the same old races I hated It also the A.I is just a fun killer It's awefully poor drives through grass without slow down knocks and drives off perfectly etc I never like GT5

Never played portal 2 and black and white

But GTA 3 to me was personally the best GTA It was darker gritter then the ones that came after and I loved It vice city not so much and san adrea's was just trying to hard IMO GTA IV LOL that game LOL that game

I loved Goldeneye 007, The campaign the multiplayer where revolutionary. I couldn't get enough of it, Guess that makes me one of the sheep lol.

Never played GT-5, Now Im kinda glad lol I thought the originals where brilliant.

Still haven't finished Portal or even played Portal 2, I get what the guy's getting at about messing with perfection though, Sometimes you should just leave well enough alone.

Black and White, God how that game annoyed me, my younger brother and sister played it so I saw at least up to the second world, until they realized just how awful it was too.

I have a love hate relationship with GTA-3, I like what it sets out to do and in fact its the one of the 2 GTA games I actually finished, But I feel it just brings out the worst in some people. On a positive note a lot of us just have harmless fun playing it =)

I loved this article, and can see where he is coming from with most games, especially GT5. That game would have been much better if it had half the cars, half the loading times etc. There was just TOO much going on, which ruined the experience for me.

I had the same experiences with games such as Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire. I was so excited about these games, pre-ordered them both. I got about nine hours into RDR before I called it a day and went over to the multiplayer, which I enjoyed.

LA Noire was a big let down for me. You shouldn't have to put 13 hours into a game before the story becomes intense. I really tried to love this game, but just got bored if I'm honest. Never played beyond the lipstick murder cases.

There is more, but I could end up commenting on this article all day!

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
