CheatCC - Until recently, I would have told you that the people over at SEGA shouldn't be allowed to make Sonic the Hedgehog games any more. Seriously, the last few Sonic titles have tasted a bit like stale bread, and it was starting to feel like the Sega was simply shoehorning Sonic into mediocre games just to make a little extra dough.
Sonic X Shadow Generations is a remaster of Sonic Generations released in 2011. The real question is, does the remaster live up to the hype of the original?
Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?
Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Top 7 for me
7 cd
6 mania
5 Frontiers
4 sonic 3
3 sonic 1
2 sonic and knuckles
1 sonic 2
Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.
Really can't wait for this one, I like the idea to play old school sonic or 2000 sonic.
At the risk of being flamed, I personally managed to find things I could enjoy in all recent sonic games, In fact I would go as far as to say I preferred both 360/Ps3 releases to Sonic Colors as it felt more like a mario game to me.
But this game has both me and my partner excited, And she ONLY likes retro sonic, and after the demo she cannot wait for it. I would say that speaks a lot to me personally, Because she also hated Sonic 4 Episode 1. And for me its the best of both, The fairly solid gameplay from Unleashed, and the retro style. This game is residing for me over some of the bigger releases that are out on the same month, And I know at least one of those games will lose money to Sonic this year for me
I hated Sonic 4 too. The animations were so wonky, and controls were slow and just the whole thing didn't flow. I'll stick to my genesis for Sonic for now, unless they show they can put some fun flow and good controls out in their new games.
