Blistered Thumbs: Dragon Age 2 was, for any number of reasons, one of the more divisive games to come out from Bioware in some time. Some people thought it was a brilliant reinvention of the franchise, while others saw it as unnecessary tinkering with an already successful formula. Now the first major piece of DLC for the game has hit the digital shelves in the form of a new content based expansion titled Legacy. Does this previously unexplored story of the Hawke bring glory to the family name or is it simply another example of good intentions gone horribly awry?
BioWare fans are abuzz today, as studio general manager, Casey Hudson, recently tipped fans off regarding Dragon Age news that will be dropping sometime soon. Fans of the popular series have been starving for some sort of confirmation that a fourth game will be coming at some point in the (hopefully) near future.
As bad as inquisition was i still look forward to the next take on the dragon age franchise
I'm terrified since the last time they brought up dragon age was that it was going to be an online Gaas game =/ As if Bioware hasn't already beaten Dragon Age to death with 2 and Inquisition.
There are lots of reasons to love a good role-playing game. The stories are immersive, the worlds are detailed, and most importantly, the player is given a range of control over how they want to play. Options range from choosing what type of fighting style you like to customizing a character with a unique look and personality.
I really like the whole morality concept as long as it affects the ending and general progression of the game. At the very least how people treat you.
As much as I loved Infamous 2 for example, morality is pretty much a non factor in which ending you get as it is based on one final decision at the end of the game. Kinda a buzz kill if you ask me.
Infamous SS did it better IMO, save for a few story scenes that are exactly the same regardless of morality. At least here however your ending is determined by your overall morality throughout the game.
The Ogre Battle franchise does it best though. Not only does morality affect everything throughout the game, but also who your allies and enemies outside of the big bad do as well. How I miss this IP.
DHGF: So, now that the third quarter of 2011 is behind us, it’s safe to say that it was disappointing to a lot of gamers. Games like X-Men Destiny were outright terrible. Both Street Fighter III: Third Strike HD and Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection were released with noticeable issues and lag. Games like Dead Island and Catherine were decent, but unable to live up to the massive amount of hype surrounding them (but what could, really?)
