The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - G4TV Preview

G4TV: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has been dangled in front of us for awhile now, so long that I was beginning to think this was just a game made out of trailers and cutscenes that you just watch instead of play. Which is why we were so surprised when we found out that we would be able to get some hands-on time with the game at this year's QuakeCon. "We literally just decided to do this last week," Todd Howard told us, "And I'm f*cking terrified."

Its worth ten purchases! One of my favourite series.

never played and elder scroll too, this will be my first and i have to say i am excited. 300hrs worth of gameplay does seem worth it . (though you shouldnt take that claim too literaly)

Including the Shivering Isles add on to Oblivion, I spent over 400 hours playing that game. I just loved going around the world and killing innocent people after I had done all the quests. Its not like GTA. If you kill a person in a town and get away with it and then get to steal what's in their house, it is very satisfying. Though if you get caught, you go to prison and lose levels in certain skills. You can kill almost anyone you see. Though being able to kill all the guards on hard difficulty requires a high level. There's also nothing like finding a unique weapon in some random cave you happened to roam into. If you like rpgs, good lore and freedom in games, Skyrim should be the perfect game. Look at the reviews Oblivion and Fallout 3 got. Bethesda have spent three years on Skyrim improving and correcting the problems that Oblivion had. I'll be very surprised if its not an excellent game.

Get out from under your rock and buy Oblivion. The earlier games are very dated these days, however if you pick up Morrowind for PC, there are some amazing HD texture mods out there.

It really depends on what you like honestly. I rate it high, but it's still not in my taste. I only like it because it's an rpg. I wish the gameplay was slightly more action based. Anyway, it's still worth it in my opinion.
