Why would they drop the price of a product they haven't even released yet.

As far as I know, they're making sure the PS Vita launches(in 2012) with multiple games to avoid a mediocre launch.
I don't see them dropping the price any time soon after the PSV launches unless it's doing terribly.
That's yet to be seen. But I doubt it.

Thank you. Just CVG being stupid as always.

the ram is being cut by half aswell to 256, they could of at least droped the price a tad.

google "sony cuts vita ram"

remanutd552630d ago (Edited 2630d ago )

link please

edit: i goggled it and i dont see where sony said they are cutting the vita ram just a lot of speculate articles , find me an article where sony says it and i believe it not rumors or speculations , anyways did sony announce vita ram in the first place?

superadvanced2630d ago

the sony guy on twitter basically debunked the ram cutting rumor. "Don't believe everything you read on the internet."

remanutd552630d ago

thats why i ask for link but even on the links he provided says that they are not sure , anyways how they are cutting the specs on something they havent even announce ? i dont recall sony giving official ram memory on ps vita yet

MaxXAttaxX2630d ago

Sony won't cut anything that will affect performance in the middle/late stages of game development.

The specs will be good enough to run these smoothly:
All games we saw were running on final specs.

CaptCalvin2630d ago

The ram was cut, if there was one, beforeon early in the hardware/games development. All the games shown were running on the final specs and they look amazing. It wouldn't make sense to change the hardware right after all the games go public.

jacen1002630d ago

thx for verifying the ram was cut

one2thr2629d ago

And apparently the Vita still has 10x more Ram than the psp..... 64MBx10=640MB of ram for the Vita...... Win!!!

jacen1002630d ago (Edited 2630d ago )

articles im reading says SONYS decision to cut the ram on its upcoming ps vita handheld console.. im guessing that isent speculation
also why would it be a rumour it would be a stupid one would it not
and theres more
edit, dont worry tho it isent ment to hinder the peformance any but they coulda dropped the price still

CaptCalvin2630d ago (Edited 2630d ago )

If you are guessing then it's speculation. Also there are a lot of stupid rumors out there. I'm sure the memory cut was made BEFORE the thing went public and price announced, so there's no reason to cut the price. If anything the price would've been HIGHER if the specs weren't cut, IF there was a cut.

MaxXAttaxX2630d ago (Edited 2630d ago )

That article itself says "Sony has not confirmed" and "several reports suggest" (like the ones seen on N4G), which means RUMOR.

jacen1002630d ago (Edited 2630d ago )

why would all the devs be spouting on about it then aswell as a hell of a lot of other sources its definatly confirmed by developeres to be cut to 256mb, it dosent make sence to have a silly rumour like cutting 256 of ram and most articles say its definatly cut. just too many scources and reports for it not to be true if u ask me

MasterCornholio2630d ago (Edited 2630d ago )

The Vita is being sold at a great price. And sony is loosing money for each one sold. So i dont see why they have to lower the price. Nintendo slashed the price of the 3DS because people believed it to be a rip at 250 euros. Now that its 170 euros it seems like a decent price for it.

The whole ram issue came with journalists and analysists reporting a prediction that the Vita would release with 512MB of Ram. Then a dev says the ram has been reduced and everyone assumes the ram has been cut by half. This is something i dont quite understand because a Dev has confirmed that the Vita has 10 times the ram as the PSP. Which would equal 320 MB not 256 like some people are saying.

heres the article with the proof.

"PSV will “have a whole lot of headroom in terms of GPU power, CPU power and indeed RAM” and any possible decrease in available memory “won’t affect [them]. It’s actually good for developers to work under constraint.”

"That said, he also remarks that the PSV has about ten times the RAM of the PSP"

32 X 10 = 320 MB

Also he stated that the decrease could be possible. He never stated that it has happend.
