Renowned videogame voice actor Nolan North says Uncharted’s Nathan Drake is his favourite character to play – even going as far as to say they’re “very much alike”.

This is why Nolan should play Drake in the Uncharted film, he IS Drake....he dosen't even need to act.

Convas4644d ago (Edited 4644d ago )

Was about to say that. North is Drake's Voice actor AND Mo-cap actor. He IS Drake in the fullest sense. And he uses his natural voice, so yeah, I'll have to agree.

Though I truly don't see ANY importance whatsoever of Video game-to-Movie adaptions, I think North should be cast as Drake. Besides, they can tone him up if necessary. Actors do it all the time.

Hellsvacancy4644d ago (Edited 4644d ago )

The same goes for David Bateson http://www.jisander.se/wp-c... (Hitman) they should of just used him for the movie, he IS Mr 47!

Its coz we live on a planet where its easier to make this more difficult for ourselves, ive give up thinkin how easier and better things (all kinds of things) could be for all us mofos

"But all they want is MONEY"

WhiteLightning4644d ago (Edited 4644d ago )

and yet people fail to realise this

The thing I hate the most is when people say things like "Fillion should be Drake he ACTS like him"....and Nolan dosen't. Nolan acts out the cutscenes for Uncharted...well as I've already said he dosen't really need to act. You even might get the "Nolan can't act" excuse when in reality he's an actor, he just went more into the voice acting industry instead.

I think any Uncharted fan should want Nolan for the part despite any problems there is. The Comic Con panal proves that they really really want to do it and Richard McGonagle even said people should tell there friends to get them the part. It really seems like they are relying on fans to get them the part.

Get some big star names for the villains, get Nolan on a bulk up/strict diet plan and make him look abit younger and were all good to go

@WhiteLightning

Because Nathan Fillion is a realistic choice, Nolan North isn't. Nolan North hasn't really done anything of mention (acting wise) and apparently the budget for Uncharted is supposed to be fairly big, so I don't think they're going to risk casting an unknown/little known actor just because a few fans want him.

The Uncharted fans are only going to make up about like 10% (maybe less) of the people that actually go to see the movie. In a perfect world, Nolan North would be Drake and Emily Rose would be Elena, but we don't live in a perfect world, so we can only hope for the next best/realistic thing, and that's Nathan Fillion.

And honestly, the story in Uncharted games aren't all that strong anyways. They're good, but only as good as a b-movie action flick, so to me, I'd rather have somebody I like (Nathan Fillion)play a generic character rather than somebody I know very little of who has barely done anything movie wise (Nolan North) play a generic character.

Mr Patriot4644d ago

But drake is handsome, Nolan is ugly and fat ...

Anti-Fanboyer4644d ago

But everything else is him, from personality to the little intricacies.

saladthieves4644d ago (Edited 4644d ago )

Wait, they haven't chosen Nolan North for the Drake part?? He is as close to Drake as people can get...he voices him for god's sake!

You silly directors...
What are you waiting for? Do it! Do it now!

WhiteLightning4644d ago

To be honest it's people who interview Neil Burger, they always say "Nathan Fillion is fans favorite...blah blah blah" which is BS because it's kind of spilt since other fans want Nolan. Neil actually said in an interview he wants to do the script first so he can THINK about who should play Drake, what actor could play him.............erm think about it, with Nolan you don't need to think about anything. He is Drake

They never say "Oh Neil if you sae the comic con the voice and motion cap actors want to play there parts would you consider them"

saladthieves4644d ago

@WhiteLightning

I agree - Nathan Fillion said that he'd love to play Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie, but he says that Castle keeps him extremely busy. Nolan North on the other hand seems to always be free...why not go with him?

earbus4644d ago (Edited 4644d ago )

Jim caviezel should play drake.

saladthieves4644d ago

AKA Jesus Christ??? Hmmm No, I don't think so.

JohnMarston4644d ago

Wonder how much Sony paid him to say that.

HeavenlySnipes4644d ago

He plays Drake in the mocap for Uncharted games and he is also the voice. Heck some of the stuff they say is ad-libbed and completely from him.

Miiikeyyy4644d ago

Even when he's talking live there, It's like I'm watching Nate XD He acts just like him, Although he doesnt look much like Nate, he sounds and acts just like him

JohnMarston4642d ago

@ both of you

Nolan North doesnt act like Drake. Drake acts like Nolan North. Think about it.

MidnytRain4644d ago

“Aside from his ‘freakish’ upper body strength, I’d say we’re very much alike.”

Ain't that the truth? It's kind of funny if you think about it. The speed he hoists himself up a wall and how he can hold onto a pole with one hand and fire a gun with the other.

Miiikeyyy4644d ago

Well he's clearly been doing it for years, When I used to parkour My upper-body strength was pretty awesome cus I did it every day.

dinkeldinkse4644d ago

So Nolan North spends the majority of his time killing hundreds of henchmen to stop an evil douche from using a supernatural treasure?

MaxOpower4644d ago

Exactly! Is Nolan North a murder?..

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."

It's about retirement...oh wait

UNCHARTED2FANATIC898d ago (Edited 898d ago )

I cant even say what the point was its easily the worst story in the series. The online was a whole lot of fun though but overall doesn't come even close to 2

porkChop898d ago (Edited 898d ago )

It was a step back for sure. Personally, I thought even the MP was way better in U2. Solid game, glad I played it. I just think they didn't push as hard as they did with U2.

UNCHARTED2FANATIC893d ago

Yes both the online and story was better in 2 no doubt

Flewid638897d ago

The "young Drake" portion was pretty top notch, story-wise. But yeah, everything outside of that I felt was inferior.

DanielEndurance898d ago

Villains were all over the place in this… one second they wanted Drake dead, the next they needed him, then they want him dead again, then they coulda killed him, but poisoned his friend instead, then coulda shot him again, but had brunch with him, then needed him alive, then coulda mowed him down, but decided to kill him by fire and let him escape… Uncharted 2 was way better. 😅😅

slowgamer898d ago

=D Sounds crazy. I don't remember any of that. Played it on ps3 and I remember thinking that why was this game so bashed compared to second one. I liked it.

Chocoburger897d ago (Edited 897d ago )

Another thing that annoyed me about UC3 events was the agent Talbot teleporting around Turkey. It just felt off to me, and made no sense.

Also, for about one third of the game, you go on a wild goose chase to rescue Sully, who wasn't even there to be rescued, and you end up back where you started again. There was simply no pay off for all the events you go through, so it fell flat in that regard as if they couldn't figure out how to make the game longer, so they decided to side-track you to do something with no pay off, hoping you wouldn't notice due to all the incredible action set pieces they made.

Overall though, even with its flaws, I still enjoy the game.

TheEnigma313897d ago

This was actually my least favorite in the series. Didn't have that same impact that part 2 set.

Flewid638897d ago

Uncharted 2 is the pinnacle of the series (to me).

Granted, 4 had the best story in my opinion, but 2 was the overall best game.
