MonkeyPaw Games, Inc. today announced that Arcade Hits: Shienryu is now available on the recently launched Japanese PS one Import section on the European PlayStation Network. The release marks the first time that European gamers will get the chance to play the widely-admired vertical shooter in its pure, un-touched form. As with most games in the Import section, the release marks the first time that many gamers will get to play the direct-from-Japan import.
And strangely enough, the lead in picture makes me want to cry that there's no Xenogears or mech type RPG on any console this gen.
I want one... :(
It's nice to be able to download a retro shooter like this that was previously only available in Japan. Shienryu is a solid, fun little game that is definitely worth a look for genre enthusiasts. It's not going to blow your mind and can accurately be described as a Raiden copycat, but the requisite shooting and dodging thrills are here.
