Ed Boon added Freddy Krueger to Mortal Kombat because "he made sense"

Ed Boon has said the inspiration for adding Freddy Krueger to Mortal Kombat as a DLC character was because NetherRealm wanted to add a famous character into the series that fit with the overall theme.

I think it sounds like a pretty decent idea.... not played it though so I can't say for sure!

midgard2274658d ago

its a horrible idea.

but i mean this coming from a game that has like 10 scorpion clones, kitana clones, goro clones, syrax clones etc.

crappy unimaginative uselessly violent, stiff bad game

Mikeyy4658d ago

It does make sense, and freddy fits in way more than Kratos.

oh wait, you don't even play MK....

Freddy in MK is a great idea.IMO Final fantasy XIII as a whole is a horrible idea.

Except for violent, you can apply all of those adjectives to that disgrace of a game too.
Then add 20 more negative adjectives or so, and we will be at least closer to what it deserves.

I'm surprised so many people are so upset with this, or think it's going to ruin MK9. This is Mortal Kombat - a game series with magical humans, centaurs and gods fighting in a martial arts tournament for the safety of Earth. It was never meant to be taken too seriously.

Don't like Freddy Krueger or don't want him in the game? Then don't download him.

Kinda does, kinda doesnt. IMO, i'd of put Rikki-oh in.....just saying what everyone is thinking.

Edit: Good looking out fish...my stupidity knows no limits.

Use the embed code, not the URL if you want to link videos.

Edit: No worries, happens all the time :)

I think it's kind of lame actually.

Certainly made more sense than the DC cross over game.

My favorite is always going to be Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I know some people didn't like the addition of the run button. But, man that game is burned into my memory from childhood, lol.

That's the one I played the most as a kid. Fun times gaming on my Sega Genesis, the memories

Deception, MK2, MK9, MKX ..rest.

MK2 will always be the best in the series. Been playing a lot of MK1 lately though. Definitely enjoying it more than any other NRS era MK game.

Tankbusta40168d ago

1 and 2 were cultural phenomenon's.

I will always have a special place in my memory for MK 1 and 2. You had to be there during that era at the arcades. Martial arts tournament fighting movies were still popular, and MK 1 was exciting. Real life motion captured characters done well (unlike Pit Fighter). A cast of characters we all liked like Bruce Lee(Lui Kang), Van Damme(Johnny Cage), the Lightning god(Raiden) from Big Trouble in Little China, and Ninjas, gotta have Ninjas. Goro was menacing as hell. The MK arcade had some of the best speakers similar to Killer Instinct as you could hear the loud crisp and bassy sound that was distinctly different than other arcades. MK 2 improved greatly on the controls and fighting mechanics
