They said that the reason for canceliing the new Mega man was because it had no fanbase - really capcome -_- why not try making a Mega Man for the 360 and PS3 instead of the Nintendo DS where it is pirated like crazy.

The fans have only themselves to blame. By now everyone should be painfully aware of Capcom's practices. If you don't want to get ripped off, then wait for the inevitable "Super, Ultimate, Gold Edition" releases.

Way to hyperbole the thing , some are upset some are actually happy .

Just go over fighting forums , or even place like neogaf to notice that people are expecting the game eagerly and more busy discussing the new moves , characters and changes than the routine of "capcom is milking" .

Yes they are milking , and people either get over t or stop supporting them . There are hardly any other choices . Besides quite honestly , the unhappy folks would be whatever happens .

3 possible scenarios :

- new game (UMVC3 then) = rage
- DLCs = rage from the same people
- nothing = rage , oddly from the same people , because they didnt release DLCs .

It was already to late , from the moment mvc3 got release , to satisfy some disgruntled folks . Might as well just move on , toward the new game or away from it

People need to speak with their wallets. Tired of getting ripped off? Then stop LETTING them rip you off. Capcom has had a habit of doing this for more than 2 decades. Look how many versions of Street Fighter 2 you have.

I bought SF4 and Resident evil 5 thinking they may have stopped their milking ways. Obviously I was wrong since RE5 Gold edition and SSF4 came out. But needless to say, I haven't bought ssf4 or RE5 gold and I don't intend to. And THIS is why I didn't buy Marvel vs Capcom 3.

When enough people stop feeding their gaming fix and say "enough is enough" THEN they'll stop milking. But I don't blame them for milking people. If people are so eagerly wanting to BE liked, I'd take advantage too.

My problem is not the fact that Capcom is making UMvC3, you can choose not to buy that game, it's the fact that they are going to completely stop support for the first game only 8 months after release. That's just bad business. This isn't 1994 where if you wanted to make fixes, you had to release a new arcade cabinet. The internet and title updates are there for that exact reason.

They promised us DLC characters. We got 2 of them that were disc unlocks.

They promised us support for their online. We get no net code fixes so the ranked matches are still broken, and if you want a spectator mode(something that was in HD Remix back in 2008) You will have to buy a new game.

I'm sorry, but Capcom just lost a fan. I can't afford to buy games that fixes their mistakes.

Everything you asked for is in Ultimate plus more. Who knows if it was actually as DLC it might have even cost more.

They said that the original plan was to release these characters as dlc but the earthquake meant that there schedules were messed up so the best thing to do was a disc release.

Fans are annoyed with MvC3 because they're butthurt regardless of what you give them.

You give them $60 (or more) worth of new content for $40 on a disc and they complain. What they want is the characters just as DLC. That's right, they want 12 characters only as DLC which would at least be $5 each so they can complain about DLC milking instead.

I don't see what people are so mad about. You knew damn well there would be a complete edition after SSF4 and the announcement of a re-release for Dead Rising 2.

Call me a cash cow or whatever , but i used to buy every iteration of stuff like Street fighter , at full price . Imagine that for sf2 ... 60+60+60+60 etc ..
While for sf4 all i had to do was : 60+39+15 ... or at worst 60+39+39 for the latest disc .

For anyone like myself who is willing to be "raped no matter what" , the enw ystem is a bargain . A new mvc3 disc fixing what i want , a new rebalance and 12 added chars is easily worth 39$ .

It's ok if you dont fancy the idea , maybe it's even healthy , but stop pretending there is some uproar and revolution .

If you are into those fighting games extensively you'll follow . Most of the folks complaining every time , arent always that much into fighting games to begin with .. wich is fine , and again probably healthy

Will you say the same when it spreads to other companies and other genres? What if a JRPG comes out where you have to pay $5 to get an extra party member crucial to the game? That's the kind of thing you need to be thinking about when you support incomplete games being made and then later their "ultimate editions" being released with fixes and content that should have already been in the original game in the first place.

Why do you feel it is a good idea to pay $40 to pay for Capcom's mistakes in their online or character balancing? When you pay $60 for a game, you should get a complete game that has very little bugs or balancing issues that need to be fixed. And if it does, that's what patches are for, FREE PATCHES. You're essentially condoning paying for patches just because a few characters are added with it. Capcom is screwing you and you're saying it's ok because A) It's not as big a screwover as SF2, and B) You're a fighting game fan so you follow them everywhere.

This is the kind of thing that will not stay contained with Capcom. Once other devs see they can milk everything to high heaven and release unfinished games knowing people will pay through the nose for any small additional content, then begins the clusterf*ck of on-disc DLC and Super-Mega-Ultimate-Gold-Compl ete-Final edition games.

Er for starters it has been the way of fighting games for eons , not just capcom . I think Only namco isnt constantly pulling that kind of stuff . IF a genre wanted to copy it , there had ample example of how to pull it since the snes . Or like with sports games .

Well yeah that's called honesty . I'm into fighting games quite a lot . I like to see the games evolves , re-learn them , see new chars being added , be competitive ... and it does cost me less that in the past , when i was ALREADY following the trend .

You're misundertand something here as well . I found the game very enjoyable in its original version . If not i wouldnt care for further changes . I dont welcome those changes because "omg that XX guy was so broken and the game unplayable ". It's just a brand new flavor for me , with a renewed interest for competitions and friendly brawls .

It's a matter of debate , but i doubt any genre gets "just patches" that change a game so much . Of course the big debatable part will be if those changes are big enough . I usually find them to be . For example i wouldnt call ssf4 AE and blazblue CS2 just patches , when the result game is so much different . SF4 , sssf4 , and ssf4 AE were 3 vasly different game in their feel , and how to play them , imo . I rmeember when the idea of fun here was to call sf4 turtle fighter 4 . And now AE is almost completely rush oriented , among other things .

At last , I'm not a fan of characters dlcs for fighting games at all . I think it mixes badly with the idea . Its a pain to transport around , as opposed to discs , it doesnt even always cost less , and it fragment a fighting game's community , especially over bans and rules in tournament . It also probably gets harder to cope with learning how to defend against a character you dont own , should you choose to ignore it .

I understand why people are upset, but it's Capcom we are talking about here. They gave done this all before. We basically knew there would be a "super" MVC3 edition somewhere down the road.

Capcom have done this all form the beginning. Look at all the editions of Street Fighter and Mega Man over the years and other Capcom games over the years. Capcom have always been the kings of milking, it has just become more obvious and easy form them these years with DLC and so on. And they wouldn't be doing it if it didn't make them more money, so we gamers have only ourselves to blame...
