Opinion: Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 won't please anyone

I like it, it's basically an inglorious bastards videogame. No one really wanted another ww2 shooter anyway.

I agree with you buy nowadays its like this
Publisher: "We need need money!"
Developer: "Ok, what will you have us do."
Publisher: "Take any series that has some brand recognition and make it into one of them shooting games."
Developer: "Won't that upset the fans"
Publisher: "Forget the fans there evil because they don't like change"
I believe a conversation like this happen at Take-Two over XCOM

its all about the Mainstream now, notice how many games are being dumbed down for the casuals, such as by making RPG elements easier or taking them away completely (Bioware), adding MP when its not necessary (Bioshock 2, Dead Space 2, Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, now Metro Last Light) and like you said, taking non-FPs games, and making them into FPS (XCOM and Syndicate).
