Massively: Today marks a significant milestone for Earthrise, the indie sci-fi sandbox from Masthead Studios. A rather large patch has made its way to the live servers, and the changes are so numerous that Masthead's press release labels the update as Earthrise's first expansion.
Earthrise: First Impact is a revived apocalyptic scifi MMORPG project that SilentFuture picked up after the closure of Earthrise in 2012. The developer has been working hard at the game, with an alpha version of the MMORPG well on its way – much to fans delight.

The closed alpha stage ONE of Earthrise has officially started. SilentFuture revamped many of the systems used in Earthrise and focused on fundamental factors such as network and server performance. A new network layer was implemented and the Flash based GUI was replaced with a HTML5 one, that enables the players to customize their HUD and implement own functionality.
