This week on Xbox Live Arcade: Switchball and Word Puzzle

Major Nelson just revealed the two games that will hit Xbox Live Arcade this coming Wednesday. Both Switchball and World Puzzle will be available for 800 Microsoft Points each. Switchball is an action/puzzle game, resembling Marble Blast Ultra, and Word Puzzle is a puzzle game where you combine letters to form words in as fast a time as possible.

WpCentral: Word Puzzle is another boggle styled word game for your Windows Phone that follows in the footsteps of similar games such as Word Arena and Wordrix. Word Puzzle presents you with either a 4x4 or 5x5 grid of letters that you have to create words from. The 4x4 grid is challenging enough but if you really want a challenge, the larger 5x5 puzzle can really be humbling.

"I’ve never been a big fan of puzzle games (No, not Tomb Raider). Traditional games like Bejeweled and, yes I’m sorry, Tetris have never really grabbed my attention for more than five minutes; but when it comes to games like Mercury (PSP) I did become interested. There’s something about being a round object and rolling around a linear puzzle course which appeals to me, whether that be the implementation of the playable object and how it interacts with its puzzles, or the variety of puzzles that can be attempted in each level. So when I heard Switchball was released on PSN I was very curious."
