RUMOR - Xenoblade Chronicles NA localization done, The Last Story in progress

Here's a bit of rumored information from the Operation Rainfall gang. Consider this rumor, as the information comes from a supposed inside source at Nintendo.

- American localization of Xenoblade is complete
- The Last Story is currently being translated to English for an American release
- no word on Pandora’s Tower localization
- Redmond, WA branch of NoA has been working with other branches to bring Xenoblade and The Last Story to North America
- NSTC version of Xenoblade was completed just over a month ago
- Testing for the PAL and NSTC versions of The Last Story are allegedly beginning in around a month

After all the drama what would they be saving the announcement for? Are they just going to drop it on the street with no advertising then complain that no one bought it?

zerocrossing4461d ago

Well when it comes to JRPG's that does seem to be the trend...

dabri54461d ago

A lot of Nintendo titles do that as well. It wouldn't surprise me but I would love for it to happen.

Xof4460d ago

If this is true:

Nintendo has been able to generate a MASSIVE amount of media and public attention for its upcoming games, placing the Wii back in the spotlight after an underwhelming few months, and more than a year of playing backseat to the PS3 (and 360, to a lesser extent) with regard to core gamers.

If this is false:

Operation Rainfall has attempted to revitalize a slowly dwindling movement, hoping additional attention and press will place more pressure on Nintendo of America to localize these games, perhaps failing to realize that such deceit may, in fact, generate the opposite result. Rather than galvanize consumers and revitalize the movement, many may see this rumor and simply give up, trusting in its legitimacy.

Wow, sorta makes all that whining and bitching pretty pointless doesn't it?

Just because Nintendo isn't prepared to roll over and jump when you demand them to doesn't mean they don't care about you. Maybe they just wanted to be able to unveil the games in their own time -- y'know, like at a BIG TRADE SHOW LIKE GAMESCOM, TGS, PAX, ETC. ETC. ETC. -- instead of caving into the demands of whiny journalists.

Lavalamp4460d ago

Big trade shows? You mean like E3? You mean like when NoE tried to show off Xenoblade at E3 and NoA said no because they oppose showing games they themselves do not intend to sell?

Urmomlol4460d ago (Edited 4460d ago )

OK, right smart guy, let's oversaturate E3 when we already have a GODDAMN NEW CONSOLE THAT THE MEDIA IS GOING TO SHIT BRICKS OVER and leave ourselves with absolutely nothing new to show during Gamescom, TGS, PAX, etc.

Jesus, good thing no one put you in charge of marketing.

Lavalamp4460d ago

Oh, so since when was the WiiU exclusive to E3? Aren't they going to show if off at TGS? At Gamescom? Of course they are! And guess what? The press will be all over it regardless!

Considering JRPGs are a niche sub-genre to begin with in the west, do you really think that Xenoblade would affect/ be affected by the hardware? Absolutely not, it's for the small dedicated fanbase who actually want it, not the dudebros.

And since E3 is a North American trade show dedicated to outlining a company's future, you'd think NoA would talk about ITS lineup. Cause you know what? NoE's gonna be talkin' about ITS lineup when it's time for Gamescom, a trade show in EUROPE! And NoJ...? I hope you're getting the idea.

Besides Twilight Princess, what else does NoA have in its upcoming lineup? Shovelware hur-dur! It's a no-brainer that announcing even ONE solid title like a JRPG would only prove beneficial. Try again, please.

Lavalamp4460d ago

Whoops! Meant to say Skyward Sword. Sorry 'bout that.

In all honesty, Nintendo at E3 was lacking. Sure, there was a new console that's MONTHS away, and a few 3DS titles, but nothing else.

VampiricDragon4460d ago

nintendo had by far the best e3.

Nobody else had anything half as interesting shown

harrypmgaga4460d ago

Oh I agree with that. It's just the fact that they had nothing worthwhile. No new Wii games, either. I mean, come on.

zerocrossing4461d ago

You know if this was Nintendo's intention to begin with, They could have saved everyone a lot of agro by being up front with the them. If however this is thanks to operation rainfall then congrats! =)

Kamikaze1354461d ago

I've said this before, but if they announce BOTH of these games, I'll go out to buy a Wii.

dabri54461d ago

Or buy the games and wait for wii-u?

Kamikaze1354460d ago

Ehh..I think that might be an even better idea, lol.

musicman650004461d ago

I normally don't buy my games at retail price. But if they do localize these games, I will not only dust off my Wii for some gaming, I will also purchase these at full price...while looking for some Amazon credit deals, of course! :P

8bit_Nes_Rambo4461d ago

You sir, are a credit to gamers and I wish there were more like you out there. If Nintendo comes through with this, then consider me sold on WiiU and these two Jrpg gems.

Tetsuya Takahashi Wants The Next Xenoblade To Be Vastly Different From Previous Games

Tetsuya Takahashi has revealed his plan to make the next Xenoblade vastly different from previous games.

GotGame81830d ago (Edited 30d ago )

I liked the Xenoblade X formula. It takes awhile, but opening up Mechs was amazing. Especially once you can fly them, and use them in battle. You have to put some time into the game to do it, but it's worth it!

Also, the graphics were more realistic than the other games. Still looks good today, just a lot more pop-in than is acceptable today, hell even too much for back then. It wasn't game breaking though.
