67% Say States Should Be Able to Prohibit Sale of Violent Video Games to Children

Rasmussen Reports writes:-
"The U.S. Supreme Court last week overturned a California law that made it illegal to rent or sell violent video games to children, but Americans strongly favor such laws.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that two-out-of-three American Adults (67%) believe states should be allowed to prohibit the sale or rental of violent video games to minors. Just 28% disagree."

Umm isn't that why they have ratings on the front if the game O_o??God people are so stupid these days>_<.

Exactly. Sellers shouldn't sell games rated for adults to children, and parents shouldn't buy games rated for adults for their children. It's fairly simple but uncaring parents and lazy salespeople confuse it all and are the ones that should be held responsible, but somehow there are still people in the world that think it's the videogames developer's fault that children get their hands on violent or sexual games. There are some people I'll just never understand.

67%? Well who the fuck is 67%? The politicians in California? I haven't heard anyone talk about these phone calls. It's like this country bases everyone's opinion off of a few couple hundred people.

I think 100% of states should be able to prohibit the sale of violent video games to CHILDREN.

That is what the rating systems are for. The measures are already in place, it is up to the retailers to uphold those standards.
