Legend Of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has revealed that Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword has a connection with Ocarina Of Time.
Have we not known this for months? If you're going to steal from IGN's latest article, at least take the interesting parts (the Majora's Mask-esque hub world, the dating-sim-like aspects/high school drama).
Yeah just like every Zelda game after Ocarina of Time right? I really wonder about you sometimes nintendo. Where is the drive to innovate in the gaming area? Microsoft and Sony have introduced dozens of New IPs that have redefined thier consoles but you just rahash old 90s games and stick a new title on them. Just because nintendo fans are all blindly nostalgic doesnt mean that they will shun a sincere attempt at a new IP. Look at the Success of Uncharted, Gears, and LBP and tell me new ips are too risky. Gamers like effort and a little effor will show. The money may have got to your heads with the wii so you may want to cut the pay of your best devs and put them in a think tank until they come up with the new mario. A little tough love might be what you need.
"Microsoft and Sony have introduced dozens of New IPs that have redefined thier consoles but you just rahash" PS3 had a new franchise: Uncharted. Third installment in the same generation. And you are talking about rehashes over a time laps of 25 years. Nintendo redefines their franchise. And it shows. People like you serious need to stop the nagging. You are annoying. Even developers creating those games you mentioned have respect for Nintendo and the games they develop. So wtf are you nagging about?
Im not nagging. Im asking questions that no one seems to have the courage to ask. I have always loved the creativity of nintendo. Who else could make a game about a middle aged italian who eats mushrooms and make it fun? What my problem is with nintendo is that they are now too dependent on thier old franchises. They are content with making sequels mario over and over and are too afraid to take a risk with a new game even though they clearly have the money to take that chance. I know Nintendo has it in them to make a new game series that could be on par with their old classics, but they need to step out of thier comfort zone to do it.
"What my problem is with nintendo is that they are now too dependent on thier old franchises" Nintendo is a business, if your franchise sells millions. Yeah they will keep making it. Eveyone wants new games from nintendo, but you can not deny the quality that comes with zelda, mario, metroid whatever. Its not a "comfort zone" its a business.
Pretty much every Zelda since OoT references the "hero of time" as some sort of back-story to the game's events.
