There is a trend here people. Santa monica, naughty dog and guerilla games all good developers.... Working with what they have and doing great things with it, while other dev. Complain about having hardware limitations that they can't even reach with their games to begin with!?!? Lol! Excuses, Excuses...
I know i mentioned all first party but hey! They are the ones that complained about hardware limitations remember;-)
ND, SM and GG would never come out in the open and say these things but their games say it loud and clear. The difference between KZ2 & 3 isn't even noticeable and same can be said for UC3.
I wouldn't be surprised if GOW4 ends up looking slightly better than GOW3.

Ontopic: This developer hardly has released anything worthy of their comments. When they match some of the games available now then maybe they can talk, otherwise it is just an excuse for their games looking like shit.
PS3 has a lot of untapped potential but most devs will not develop for a dual layer blu ray disc or higher because of the high costs of cramming 50-100gb of data on a disc. GOW3 made good use of blu ray and I think Kilzone used it too. MGS4 was the first but it just crammed a bunch of high def cinematics on it. Even then, no ps3 dev was able to even fill the dual layer bl ray, much less go any higher. Its a waste of potential really. I can only hope that dev costs drop so we can see blu ray truly show its potential in the future.
If they ake their games for both consoles I doubt they're even pushing the PS3 to 50%. Start making your games look as good as Sony's games. I just don't see this from third party developers. They can do a lot better. No more we have to make them look the same. Push the hardware.
I think that the consoles have generally reached their limits, but devs will always be able to optimise and squeeze out that extra tiny bit of power.
I don't think we'll be seeing a huge leap from UC3 graphics on PS3. Naughty Dog can improve how things are rendered, but there will always be hardware limitations involved.
ps3 fanboys talking smack AGAIN uncharted 3 will max out ps3 just like gears 3 will max out 360. if you notice uncharted 3 only looks a tad bit better than uncharted 2 what does that tell you ? even naughty dog said it themselves that their reaching the ps3s limits with uncharted 3 that they are just optimizing code from uncharted 2 that already pushed the platform to make different parts of the engine run faster that way they can squeeze in a little more stuff. oh yeah did you guys notice killzone 3 doesn't look much better than killzone 2 ? thats because killzone 2 was already pushing ps3 and killzone 3 just squeezed out the little remaining power left in the machine there wasn't much room for improvement.lol sad that EVEN bulletstorm pc looks better than anything current gen consoles will EVER be able to produce :,( I feel the pain of you consolites. what do you mean by gears 3 wouldn't max out 360 ? have you seen how good that game looks compared to gears 2 ? its probably the best the 360 can do if its not then why doesn't it look better than it currently does ? the game was pushed back 5 months so epic would have more time to polish they are probably pushing the machine as hard as they can,looks astonishing though...FOR A CONSOLE GAME lol bulletstorm pc still sh*ts on it HARD!! Ps3 is maxed because of ram limitations and so is the 360. Graphically the ps3 may do more but good luck makeing it smooth with less ram then a I phone.
Are fanboys so blind? How can you say the PS3 has "alot of untapped potential". Look at SOnys 1st party offerings this year and tell me they are way better than their previuos iterations. Killzone 3 is marginally better looking than Killzone 2, Infamous 2 looks great but not so amazing and IMO, God of War is still the best looking PS3 game to me and that is over a year old.
So if Sony's 1st party studios are not making massive strides with their sequels, that should make you realize that the system is reaching its graphical sealing.
IMO PS3 and 360 are maxed out but with better optimization, a dev can squeeze a tiny bit more in certain areas but that is the best that can be done.
OF COURSE they are hitting their limit. It's visible just by comparing current console games to their PC counterparts - the console games are behind and have been behind for many years.
I think graphics on both console look fine as they are, but what they need though is smoother framerate/gameplay, which a new consoles would help. Current console can't push higher resolution without putting stress on framerate, AA -> which mean limitation is already reached. Optimization can make them look a tad better, but i haven't seen one dam improvement in framerate, higher resolution, better AA, etc...

I'm not a fanboy and I wont name " hardware names" but hasn't one console hit its peak about a couple years ago and the other keeps improving?
What I'd like is for PC gamers to weigh in on the debate without automatically spouting out, "PC has better graphics and is more powerful, so there."

This is totalt BS, most developers only use 1-2 of the PS3's SPU, nice article , try again.
