Are you a glutton for punishment? Can you take down the Tower Knight in From Software’s 2009 release Demon’s Souls with no problem? Then you probably know how important a shield is going to be in the developer’s upcoming title, Dark Souls is going to be.
For three lucky fans, a shield of their design will make it into the final product, as Namco Bandai and From Software are holding a contest via the game’s official Facebook page.
Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."
Danish from eXputer: "FromSoftware and Larian Studios have shown that a good workplace environment is what it really takes to make good games."
Danish from eXputer: "FromSoftware's unique approach to difficulty in their games allows players to customize their own experience, which is really cool."
"Souls Like" is a literal genre.
I'd just like to point out that Rise of the Ronin which recently released is in large part a Souls Like as is the upcoming Stellar Blade. And both games have 60 FPS.
More? Like every other game in the last
5 years has “Souls” elements or difficulty. I think we need to pump the brakes a bit Jesus they don’t all the the “grind or die”/“get good” mentality.

At this point, I think I could do that without a shield, but at first that boss was insanely intimidating.
I think during my first playthough I went back and fought him way later in the game.
This is a cool idea though and I usually wield a shield so I definitely think they are important to have in your inventory. Some people like to run around with dual uchitangas or kilij, etc. but I haven't really got into that yet.
From the looks of things, it seems like I'll be picking this game up day one.
Oh, I thought this was a new feature in game to create a custom Shield for any player.
