Activision's E3 2007 Drunken Host Tries to Defend Himself, Fails

gamrFeed writes:-

"Activision's E3 2007 press conference was full of interesting announcements. There's a chance, however, that you don't remember many of those announcements. In fact, there's a huge chance that the only parts of Activision's conference you remember is the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare part and the host Jamie Kennedy intoxicated.

Kennedy was all over the place, literally. Stumbling around the stage looking for the teleprompter that was in-front of him the whole time, Kennedy's poor choice of jokes, awkward moments, being called out by the audience, and even made fun of by one of the developers on stage, Activision's E3 2007 event was one that even the publishing giant itself was trying not to look at -- presumably.

Four years later, it seems as though Kennedy hasn't gotten over the incident. Over on Twitter, the comedian lashed out at Michael Pachter and former Editor-in-Chief of PC Gamer Gary Whitta after they began discussing who out of Mr. Caffeine --from Ubisoft's E3 conference this year-- and Jamie Kennedy was the worst E3 host of all time (Jamie Kennedy's Tweets have been left unedited)."

Jerkstore815073d ago

I so agree. I mean 5 or 10 years from now are people going to still talk about bad E3 press conferences from 2007 or 2006?

starcb265073d ago

Did you hear about Hitler? He was a rotten apple.

jacksonmichael5073d ago

Speaking of which, I recently heard Saddam died... How was that not bigger news?

ChrisW5072d ago

Huh?!? Where were you when they released the video of Hussein being hung?

Legion5073d ago

Not even sure he was boozed up Jamie Kennedy ALWAYS looks like he is drunk.

Anybody else having issues with the website? Pops up in a weird format and has no real information.

saladthieves5073d ago

I can't watch. I'm too embarrassed for this guy, and I didn't then because I was too embarrassed for him. Captain Price must have been facepalming himself when he saw the host at E3 2007.

TVippy5073d ago

If only this is all true, than Kennedy must be a really dumb person. I don't really understand how could he get this far being that stupid and infantile. Or drugs destroyed him at some point?

subtenko5073d ago

Kennedy:"So I was wondering if I could do the whole interview with Ozzy Osborn"

English dude:"Absolutely..arent you doing that already?"

*guy in crowd the first to start the laugh chain*

Epic Moment completed! ^_^

Gray-Fox-Type05073d ago

Mr Kennedy did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?

Nice Far Cry 3 reference comment on the site :P

Only a big company that has interest in gaming like Microsoft or Tencent could have acquired Activision. Extremely low interest rates at that time certainly helped.

Not exactly sure that a merger with EA would’ve benefited any of their franchises or gamers. I imagine it would’ve been like the activision blizzard one were each publisher retains their own identity. So Activison-Blizzard-EA. But who knows.

fsfsxii92d ago

If it was owned by EA, COD could’ve disappeared a looong time ago. They have no clue how to manage franchises.

Gamingsince198179d ago

It's a shame EA didn't buy them then, COD should die, it's past its prime and has been since black ops 2, I started playing it when cod 4 mw first came out and it has been downhill since.

Activision Donates One Million To The L.A. Fire Relief

Activision has announced a one million dollar donation to L.A. fire relief.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH118d ago

Nicely done Activision. Every penny counts. My family is in one of the areas that burned down so any and all donations are appreciated.

Garethvk118d ago

Exactly. Cynical people say; well their worth billions it is just a tax and p.r. move. Sure but how many major companies have not given a penny? Amazon, Meta, Musk and his ventures, etc.

blacktiger118d ago

Dude relax, it's all inflation money

Michiel1989118d ago

but they cant put out the dumpsterfire thats their company, ironic

Garethvk118d ago (Edited 118d ago )

They would hary be the first company with problems but at least they are willing to make a donation unlike ma y others.

goken118d ago

Donations during are much needed, and should be applauded. Every bit counts.
But for context… individuals like Beyonce donated $2.5m, Jamie Lee Curtis $1m

Also there was an interesting donation incident during the China Henan floods. Erke the Chinese sports brand was seeing RMB60m (about $8.5m) losses during the 1st quater of 2021. Despite that donated RMB50m (about $7m) for the henan floods that year. The Chinese public upon learning this, worrying about Erke’s survival and showing appreciation, started to purchase Erke products en masse. As a result Multiple Erke shops ran out of stock, the erke live stream sales in 2 days exceeded the company’s sales for the first half of 2021.
