"There was a time, long ago, when Sega’s 16-bit Mega Drive and Genesis briefly kicked Nintendo to the curb. A time when Mario was about to get in line at the unemployment office, and a blue hedgehog was setting a new land speed record on our TV screens. Can I get a show of hands: how many of you were even born? But I digress…
After years and years of sub-par games, most of them due to the poor job in adapting a 2D platformer into 3D, Sonic is about to make what we hope is a triumphant return in Sonic Generations. With the game’s release date slowly approaching, a demo has recently been made available for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Gold subscribers."
Sonic X Shadow Generations is a remaster of Sonic Generations released in 2011. The real question is, does the remaster live up to the hype of the original?
Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?
Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Top 7 for me
7 cd
6 mania
5 Frontiers
4 sonic 3
3 sonic 1
2 sonic and knuckles
1 sonic 2
Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.
You know.
I've seen demos ranging from about 15 mins to 45 mins. Some are even multiplayer demos that could range for plenty of hours.
However, this demo... lol. Bring out the Guinness Book for the shortest demo ever created by man. It took me 3 minutes to finish that level and I was expecting to play the Modern Sonic version of Green Hill Zone but alas, I was treated with the main screen instead.
Disappointing.
