Nickerous writes, "Nintendo has a history of re-releasing games for different platforms, so when Donkey Kong for the original Game Boy was announced, I’m sure many people thought it would be another rehash. Don’t get me wrong, the original Donkey Kong was an outstanding arcade game. The NES game, Donkey Kong Classics was a fantastic port of Donkey Kong that even included Donkey Kong Jr. But, to release the same arcade version of Donkey Kong on the Game Boy would not have been the best decision. Thankfully, Nintendo knew that too.
