IGN PS3 Game of the Month: October 2007 - Ratchet & Clank Future

The game takes all of the elements seen in the previous incarnations of the franchise and turns them up to 11. A visual masterpiece, it also serves as the best-looking PlayStation 3 game to date. It's a title that will appeal to practically any gamer out there, and should absolutely not be missed if you own a PlayStation 3.

I don't think it has online play, and Sony might have wanted to add it. If you think it's not possible, look at Stranglehold... Uncharted looks like the type of game that would have multi like stranglehold has, except better. Sure, graphics are great, storyline sounds great too, and production values in general, including music, resolution, frame rate and animation too. Gameplay? Well, it looks like a mix of gears, tomb raider and stranglehold with some interactivity on the environments... I don't know. But I hope you're not disappointed by the hype you're building for it, cause I sure as hell won't make of this another "Lair". Not like it was bad, but it didn't live up to the hype...

with that said. Why not? It's a new IP that if successful could start off a whole new franchise for Sony. I don't know about you but I feel the industry needs as many new IP's as developers can make.

I think the only people hyping games like Uncharted and Lair are the fans. For me hyped games = MGS, GTA, FF, GT, Halo, Gears, ME, Mario, SMBros, etc..... Those are hyped games. All of them except Gears of War and ME were on previous consoles and none of them had the amount of $$$$$ spent on marketing (hype) like Halo.

Personally all I want from Uncharted is a really well rounded (gameplay, story, graphics and sound) game that I enjoy from start to finish like say a Bioshock or Ratchet and Clank.
