Activision: We only want to make games that we think we can make better than anyone else‏

Activision is one of the biggest companies in the entire entertainment business. On top of starting one of the best-selling franchises of all time, Guitar Hero, the company also struck gold with their blockbuster Call of Duty series. Now, the studio has said they only want to make games that they think the can produce better than any other developer.

COD2, COD4 and MW2 are not crap. MW2 has the most mistakes out of those three but it is not crap. Treyarch comes in and messes it up.

If they at least updated the game engine or made a new one, I would consider buying another COD. All they are doing is making stupid Michael Bay campaigns and slapping 6 multiplayer maps on it every year. Give us a realistic game engine with new animations. At least Dice is trying to move the genre forward.

I rather enjoyed MW2 for a while myself. Black Ops however I got bored of in about a week plus it was very buggy on PS3.

Activision makes games that will sell. They milk it until it no longer makes enough profit and then they move on. Lucusts. Look at Guitar Hero, had it's run, when south after sever milking then they killed it and moved on. When COD starts to die out, they will milk someting else. I think their next run will be with Bungie. I hope they do not let ActiEVIL and Kotick destroy them.

The worst part in COD games (Besides outdated graphics, crappy animations, glitches, the exact same gameplay every year..etc) is the AI. Whenever I play a COD campaign I always feel sick because of the infinitly cheap respawning retarded AS... i.e. Artificial Stupidity.

Of curse. MW3 looks like the best fps game ever! We get to go to New York, Paris, London and Berlin. We've never been there in any other game before. World War 3 will also be going on. What an innovative idea. So many stories about WW2 but nothing ever about WW3 and unlike any other game, we get to shoot baddies on a submarine. Even though there is no talent left in Infinity Ward and the Activision lapdog Robert Bowling can't even play the game but has to get somebody else to do it for him, I still think this game will be the bestest game yet. /s

You guys are so damn ignorant... true that activision sucks, but I really love the Call Of Duty series, and no, MW3 is not going to be "the same" or "an expansion pack" have you guys seen the spec ops survival mode footage? looks awesome! and we haven't even seen any multiplayer footage yet, you guys can't start flapping your mouths yet about "how bad COD is" or "how much of the same it is" because it's not, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be a great game, but I think this should be the last time they use the Modern Warfare engine.

Sad fact ember; you can't craft something gigantic, amazing, or really much different in the span of a year.

All of the videos seem thus far look as though they could have been taken directly from MW2, and indeed set pieces are very clearly repeating.

Will it be fun? Sure. Will it be worth 60 bucks plus map packs and monthly fees for those dumb enough to get Elite? Most folks could probably keep playing MW2 multi or the campaign over and over and get the same effect, but it wouldn't be "new."

Finally, they should have made a new engine after MW2. Not trying to worship EA, as they often suck as much as Activ does, but Modern Warfare 3 doesn't look, visually at least, a tenth as good as BF3.

It hasn't been only a year. It has been TWO YEARS. You have to remember... each Call of Duty developer gets 2 years to work on their next Call of Duty.

Modern Warfare came out in 2007 by Infinity Ward, World at War came out in 2008 by Treyarch, Modern Warfare 2 came out in 2009 by Infinity Ward, then Black Ops came out in 2010 by Treyarch, Modern Warfare 3 comes out in 2011 and the next Treyarch version should be along in 2012.

Therefore Infinity Ward gets 2 years of development and Treyarch gets 2 years of development.
