The Sony Playstation 3 distributed computing project dubbed [email protected] has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the most powerful distributed network in the world.
As usual... flame bait... this article is totally unrelated to the xbox 360... heck.. even totally unrelated to gaming which is why the xbox 360 shouldnt even be mentioned... Kudos to Sony and the people responsible for Folding (not only on the PS3) for this achivement. It's great to see technology company trying to find solutions to ilnesses.
I see that you have been taking your Medicine Bladestar great job and keep it up. Back on topic great job to Sony for helping with finding cures for diseases.
LOL,i congratulate sony for their masterpiece and vision of gaming, now the 360 will be recognize as the 1# console with 33% failure edit:sorry double post
This is just flat-out good news. As a PS3 owner involved with this (done around 60 units myself thus far), it feels great. And now with the recent array of stellar games, I don't have to hear "but does it play games too?" stuff anymore either. Lovin' it!!!---12
...I'm happy to be involved in such a great and noble endeavour. coming form someone who has lost an immediate family member to cancer, i can honestly say I'm proud to be a part of folding at home. good job Sony!
BTW, PS3 fan-boys and Xbots, please stay away from this topic. This is something that transcends the "Halo 3 has a bigger d*ck than Ratchet and Clank... lolz" joke of a console war.
to have mini games to play while folding. I know that would take from CPU time, but im not the kind of guy to leave my system on 24/7. Maybe auto screen saver? perhaps be able to fold while playing music? watching movies? i dont know, just ideas...
I love that! ""The Sony Playstation 3 distributed computing project dubbed [email protected] has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the most powerful distributed network in the world.""
.....It came about because ps3? last I checked it was out long before ps3 was invented.
As for that a few people are saying its about helping people.
folding has been around for a few years, and in that time IT HAS HELPED NO ONE, No breaktrough...ect can be atributed to [email protected] not a single innovation.
And if you believe for one second sony asked them to impliment it to help people then your wrong, If sony did then they would take 10,000 ps3s of there own stock, link them, and run a super hyper computer capable of running through folding information faster then all the ps3's currently running it because those ps3's are linked.
wow that was fast!
Good going Sony, an achievement well deserved by truly powerful machine.
Well deserved
Kudos to sony for helping with finding cures for diseases
[email protected] well done
