TimeShift Review (Game Informer)

Game Informer's Matt Bertz reviews TimeShift with Andrew Reiner giving a second opinion.

Concept: Alter time to taunt, confuse, and ultimately destroy your enemies

Graphics: The backdrop is your classic war-torn dystopian world

Sound: The terrible '80s action flick soundtrack should be replaced by your own music

Playability: Great weapons and smooth controls, but the main gun has a poorly-designed reticle

Entertainment: Using time against your foes never gets old. Neither do their explosive demises

Replay: Moderately High

Bottom Line: 7.75 (out of 10)
Second Opinion: 7.75

This is what happens when you give a gamer too many options.

Too hard to please, but I agree.. NEXT!

Kuest6021d ago (Edited 6021d ago )

post.

Mother#@!$%

edit:

okay, okay. I'm a little stingy, but so what? I've earned my right to babble on, and I plan to exercise those rights to the fullest!

Unless, of course, I make a double post... then I pretty much f#cked.
Thanks alot, Jaja- now I really feel bad.

Or do I? While mulling over how wasteful a double post can be (ARRGHH!), I suddenly realized that I wouldn't have to CARE [if] I had *cough* 9 bubbles. Just imagine the freedom, the power... Uh, not that I deserve it or anything.

Well, maybe I do. Nah, I haven't been posting here that often. But, that may be because I only type quality posts (right?). *sigh*

If only I could experience the superiority associated with having 9 bubbles. I would be so good. I wonder who might be so kind to help me experience that feeling? Who could that generous, saintly person be?

Hey! Well will you look at that... I've turned my double-post into another discussion. Therefore, I haven't really wasted a bubble, right? HAHA! Thanks Jaja, little did you know that your snide reply would actually result in me NOT wasting a bubble. HAHA!

Fools, I tricked all of you. I don't really care about bubbles... or do I? HAHA, there's another discussion right there! I'll spare you this time.

Heaven forbid you waste one of your 8 bubbles. :)

Have i seen the timeshift commercial 30 times but i only saw the halo 3 and gears of war commercial like twice. i saw the halo 3 commercial like 2 times. then nothing. timeshift is advertising like hell

FiveShot Bandit6021d ago

While i've seen the Timeshift ad quite a few times. It nowhere nears Halo 3's terrible ads that were played almost constantly, I remember several times seeing them back to back (please note I think the actual game is great) and I remember seeing Gears commercials (which were actually quite good) several times too.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad593d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g593d ago (Edited 593d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

10 more arrivals hit home with Xbox One Backwards Compatibility – Are they worth the return?

Carlos writes "It’s been a great month so far for the backwards compatibility scheme on Xbox One, but this week may just be the busiest week of all since its introduction. 10 more Xbox 360 titles have made the generational jump and are now playable on Xbox One, so let’s take a look and see if they are worth returning to once more."

Is Dead Space 1 on BC? That was the best one.

XMarkstheSpot2553d ago

And its part of EA Access, hoping they put 2 and 3 in the Vault so I can replay those aswell, never beat 3 Co-Op

brich2332553d ago

Yeah, its been there since about the release of BC.

Cobra9512553d ago

Nothing I care about there. Too bad.

rando 2553d ago

xbox is killing it with backwards compatibility. but they'll STILL find a way to downvote any xbox-positive comment into oblivion. N4G is completely infested with Sony fanboys lol smh

superchiller2553d ago

While I agree with your comment about BC being a great thing, I downvoted you because of your fanboy comments about Sony. I own both the XB1 and PS4 and enjoy both of them, and really appreciate that MS has worked so hard to bring 360 games to the XB1.

rando 2553d ago

@ superchiller: my comment was about N4G not about Sony. so i'm going to give your reading comprehension a downvote.

Razzer2553d ago (Edited 2553d ago )

Nice job turning an Xbox positive article into a whine about fanboys. You are as bad as the people you whine about, dude.

rando 2553d ago

@ Razzer: i'll just say something like "phil spencer is doing a great job" & it'll have 50 downvotes for no reason... if somebody says "Phil Spencer, more like FAIL Spencer... amirite?" it will have 50+ upvotes & top comment. if you're pro-xbox, commenting on N4G gets annoying after awhile. you already know what people's opinion is going to be. PS4 = good. / XB1 = bad. no matter what good xbox does, its never good enough for them. it got so bad to the point where i had to address it. so i did.

Many-hat52552d ago

Yep. Oblivion is on there also.

Shadow Man2553d ago

Where is my silent hill HD collection ?

Lon3wolf2553d ago

Infinite Undiscovery please, when BD and LO got done I was hoping for that soon.

VincentCastle2553d ago

same, that and resonance of fate, magna carta 2, eternal sonata, fable 1, maybe even star ocean 4.

Lon3wolf2553d ago

Indeed, we can only hope :)
