The raging marketing and buzz war between Activision’s Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 3 and E3′s Battlefield 3 took a bizarre turn when the boss of Activision, the publisher of the Call of Duty series, Barry Kotick appeared in the upcoming Brad Pitt baseball drama, Moneyball. Coincidence? Or is it a bizarre case of cross platform marketing? I don’t know about you but whenever baseball is mentioned, the last thing I think about is a squad of guys rushing blasting everything in their path. FPS and baseball-what a tight thematic fit! Who knew?
